I’m still going by what Billie said in that magazine interview when he said probably 2023!!! I did some research on the C&V/American Idiot sessions and the timeframe is actually pretty similar to the 1972 sessions. The C&V sessions went from July 2002 to until the tapes were (allegedly) stolen in October 2002. Then they went back in April 2003 to start the American Idiot sessions which lasted until March 2004. Then the album came out in September.

As for 1972, from what we’ve heard, they went to RAK Studios in London in October 2021 to record 6 songs. Then in early 2022, they were at Ocean Way in LA, then went back to London, and by the summer they were back in LA and revealed they were working with Rob Cavallo and CLA!!! So if the album was completed late 2022 or early 2023, we could most definitely be looking at a June or July release!!! And if that’s the case, the timeframe for the single could either be late this month, or some time in May!!

I really love your positivity and enthusiasm. I wish it would come true.

However, as we know the band were still in the middle of working on the new record, on Jan 10, that rules out your end of '22 option.

The only other factual info is the Instagram photo of Chris, Mike and Tre still in studio on Feb 28.  So, I'm sorry but,  until we get some further official news I'm sticking with October, but I would love to be proved wrong.

Well technically we don't know if they were still recording in January. There's much other work to do before releasing an album. And if they were still recording, then definitely not the main part of the album, otherwise CLA didn't have to mix already mid-2022.

So Green Day began making records in 89.   U2 in 80.  Green Day have done 13 albums in 34 years while U2 have only done 14 in 43 years.   Looks like U2 had several 5 year waits between albums, it's gotta be rough if those guys are your #1 band.

But I suffer big time, because I am obsessed with +44, System of a Down and Scars On Broadway and Transplants and all of them have basically fallen apart.  Scars has potential to do more records, but dang. 

Back to Green Day, maybe they are convinced that only years ending with 4 are where they succeed. 😄 

But ya know, Nimrod was no flop.  Maybe after this time, they should aim for years ending in 7.  I would say 9, but that would be rough unless the Tubbies got us through 2028 or something.

Yes!  An absolute perfect record for me.  155 is maybe the greatest song ever, but this is not the time or thread to speak like this,  if I has the thought I'd never dream of it.

I am a huge Blink fan.  They are my 9th favorite band. But I really wanted +44 to become the main band and for Blink to give it a rest.
