Okay, I know we have to stay on track, so I became someone else for a bit and created a tracklisting that is ultra-realistic and totally plausible.    This album will be 40 minutes exactly, produced by Rob Cavallo and Billie Joe Armstrong.    Jason, Kevin and Jason take part in the recording process, as well as Rob Cavallo doing a ton of piano work in the mix.    Symphonies, bagpipes.      Some raw meat being slapped.    This is me being serious, remember.    staying focused.

It'll have some of the American Idiot flair in terms on sonic personality, but the lyrics will be totally different.   More in line with Trilogy stuff, but smarter like WARNING.      Here you go.

1972 Glory Days:

1.        1972   (3 minutes)   (huge lead sing, harkens back to Baskecase)

2.        Hearts Racing (3 minutes)   (an uno-style banger)

3.        Pretty Car  (3 minutes)  (Breakdown vibes)

4.        Transatlantic Heartbreak (3 minutes)  (a new sound for the band.  Strange)

5.        Motor For Meat Loaf (3 minutes)  (lead vocals by Rob Cavallo for 10 seconds)

6.        Loop Life  (3 minutes)  (super fast)

7.        Fire To Their Face  (2 minutes)   (gnarliest song sing Platypus)

8.        Forgive These People? (3 minutes)  (Tre Cool lead vocals on the mid-section)  (is this F These People re-written??)

9.        The American Punch (3 minutes)   (Sounds like American Idiot with Breakdown vibes)

10.    Riding Clutch (3 minutes)   (pop ballad)

11.    St. Billie (1 minute)   (are they telling the continued story of St Jimmy?  Because Billie isn’t mentioned in the lyrics.)

12.    Cigerretes and Valentines With the Underbellly (8 minutes)  (Straight up Homecoming and Jesus of Suburbia PART 2!!!!!)

13.    Your Glory Days  (2 minutes)  (lead vocals by Mike Dirnt for 3 seconds)    (big singalong anthem for the ages)

(please win me the day, please win me the day)

Rob Cavallo on lead vocals LMFAO!!!!

If "Green Day will be the focus of the Summer" means what it meant last time, then the new album will be out in February 2024.

What if 1972's 1st track  continues  where "see the the light" from 21stCBD left off ??

It's wishifull thinking, but I will die  if that happens

It starts with See the Light....

And then the hand clapping consumes all.

What if it starts with the end of Whatshername, with Billie Joe's quote at the end of the album.

She was right.

I am an Idiot.

(Music builds)

It's even on my birth certificate in so many words.

(Explosion on sonic extravagance!!!!)

I am a BLEEPER of 72

I lost all of the class rules!!!!!

Raised as a prisoner of heros and cons

I cry out but don't turn blue!

(To the melody of 21st Breakdown)

1 Time Machine.

9 band members.

7 continents.

2 chances to save the world.

Between Green Day and the Network, there are 9 different dudes, I'm sure.

Could be worse.    Imagine The Offspring Authority or whatever their forum is called between 2012 and 2021.

Could be better.   While Green Day have put out 2 albums since 2016, Weezer have blessed us with six records and four EPs and so many stand alone singles I can't count them right now.    10 or more.

At this point I have no desire to critique any new Green Day music. I'm either going to enjoy it or it won't affect me.

What would you say if 1972 ends up being something epic that totally blows you away?

I hope 1972 sounds like a Weezer record.

Remember on the Hella Mega Tour where the bands had each others faces on the different band shirts?

That's because they are all switching places with each other.

Green Day's going to make a record in the style of Weezer.

Weezer's gonna make a Fall Out Boy record.

Fall Out Boy's going to make a Green Day record.

I don't know if I would want the bands to write an album and give it to the other band to record, or if they should all just try writing a record that sounds like it was by the other band.   What do you guys think?

I Was A Teenage Teenager sounds like a Weezer song too!!!

This is the longest anticipation album thread we ever had 😂 the funny thing is that we will have it for at least 6 months more 😂

I think 1972 gonna be the biggest story ever. Old characters will come back stronger than ever.
iViva la Christian! and Gloria Inferno will open the record.
Jimmy will play a game of chicken and meet Amanda at the Whispering Wall.
Finally Z-Kid is going to meet the Judge's Son and realise he's a son of a gun.
In the end Scotty still doesn't know. (oops wrong universe)

Damn @That Dude took over my mind in this one.

I do like the idea of St. Jimmy meeting Christian and Gloria.   Maybe Gabriella can show up and wreck everybody's day as well.

Tunny and the Snoo are definitely gonna hook up.
