1972 project speculation thread

This album is going to be better than anything they've ever done so far.

Both sad and funny. Serious, yet devious.

The title will be two words....

No, wait!  Two Words will be the title, yeah!

Two Words.....

19 songs.

7 minute song with Moontik clips blended in.

Crunchy, dirty guitars and creative rhythm sections.

Lyrics more focused, but still weird.   Why is Billie living like a prisoner for haters?  Why is school for suckers?

Does Billie know his abcs with his heart on his sleeve?

He's going sleeveless, baby.

Pretty sure 1972 will be another rock opera..

They're taking their time with this project and it sounds promising.

It'll be worth every second we've waited for.

Happy holidays guys

That’s what I’m thinking!!! A story driven album featuring characters based on their families and friends, and events that happened throughout their lives!!!

I’m curious if this will end up being an longer or shorter album, I’m also feeling curious how long some of these songs will be

The curiosity is taking over me and I can’t wait much longer

I hope it's 12-14 songs

You guys ever NOT react to something on here in fear that it could take away from your own gains in the Leaderboard?    Yeah, me either.

Made me laugh. One of the funniest posts I’ve seen on here. Thanks man :)

A quote is BETTER than a reaction, so here you go!

It looks like the new album will have a re-recorded version of 21cb in the same vein as welcome to paradise on Dookie.

Rob Cavallo will give the song new life

I hope the leaked demo version gets an official release on some demo compilation someday. But seriously, this has to be a joke, right?

Did they ever say why they re-recorded Welcome to Paradise, other than the fact that Dookie was their first album with Warner?

Probably just wanted to see how older material would turn out with better equipment and a bigger budget. So they picked one song from each Lookout album

If I remember correctly… they said in an interview that once they went in to record dookie they wanted to start off with something familiar since it was their first time in a big recording studio.

they loved the song and how it sounded on the Marshall amp so they kept it

They also re-recorded 409 in your coffee maker for dookie but decided not to put it on the album

I remember too they said when they recorded it for Kerplunk, the song was so new that has only played it a few times so by Dookie they thought they could do it better.

Second time that Rob Cavallo did this was with Less Than Jake's "Look What Happened"

It's a shame 1972 is going to keep getting pushed back with all these anniversaries coming up.

The album was released in 1972 bce. A hidden gem lost to the ages and we were all too foolish to see it.

I mean. the Dookie and Idiot anniversaries are not until 2024, so 1972 is safe
