How about Idiot sounds with Pinhead vibes?

A Nimridiot Powder album would simply be epic.

Now that shows are done for the year, I wonder if they're back in the studio working on the finishing touches

And like I said, in that latest TikTok, they finally addressed the new album directly in the description, that they have been working on it in the middle of the tour. And now we're heading into the holiday season, Thanksgiving is a week from this Thursday!!!!! I can see them posting a few more teasers in the next month or so, because December 19th will be the 1 year anniversary of the first teaser. At midnight on New Year's, I could see them posting a video of the 1972 ball drop, pretty clever, eh? Then give it maybe a week or 2 after the Nimrod release, the floodgates could be opened, giving us everything we need to know about 1972!!! Single in February perhaps?

Looks like we get the 21stCB/RevRad guitar tone back, could be Billie's recording amps Park New and Park Saul

I love your optimism. Your deffo a 'the glass is half full' person. It's infectious. After two major highs with Dookie & AI, is 1972 the next big step up to world domination, again.?

What do we think the album cover will look like?

Right now, my imagination isn't running away on an 8th avenue serenade (the irony of that sentence!)

so I'm thinking subtly.   medium-light blue background with orange and tan stripes, and a big white goofy font that says "1972"

hype sticker promoting two songs

"The Wipe Out Dance"   and "Apocalypse Yesterday"

AI Used these too - they’ve def learned a lesson with all of the FOA amp sims

There was that one video Billie posted back in 2020 where he said, “Well Father of MoFo’s, looks like we just blew up an amp.”

What lesson? Are people still actually reassessing quality of software amps in 2022? Or due to ignorance misunderstanding software amps with bad guitar sounds in general? Jesus, I'm amazed that there's still so much misapprehension about this topic..

Or were you aluding that FOAM didn't sell well because they used software amps? 😳 Because that's even more bizzare, and just proves how in most cases people don't even have a clue about this stuff and are biased by good old "analog is better" crap.

There are no rules, there's no better option. It all depends on a situation, but mostly on experience in music and engineering of person who is recording /producing.

Like I always say, put on a blindfold and I'll gladly A B you couple of different amp and software amp sounds and you won't ever know the difference.

Oh my lord chill out! I just meant that they tried to use a bunch of amp sims and left the classic Green Day sound

Im quite aware of how to make music as well, no reason to go producer snob on someone - that’s a fantastic way to get people to ignore your point

sorry Steve Albini 😬

I'm just messing with you. My comment wasn't intended as an attack on you, it just reminded me that there's still a lot of people who live in delusion and ignorance about the whole amp thing. Just a general thought.

As far as using bunch of different amps and leaving classic Green Day sound, they've been doing that since Trilogy, or even before that, which doesn't necesarilly has to be a bad thing. I'm in the minority who loves guitar sounds on Trilogy. 💪🏻

I don't expect anything big from this album honestly. They're not as ambitious as they used to be , like with AI & 21stCBD. Now Billie just throws out whatever the hell comes to his mind. With recent tracks like pollyana and holy Toledo ,we can see what direction they're going with this one.

Yeah it's gona suck donkey balls

With Rob Cavallo at the helm, I think there will be a bit more QC put in here, as opposed to the tracks you mentioned.

... well, today I learned they're on Tik Tok. I remember when Billie just randomly tweeted out random thoughts as promo. I guess I'm old now?

I don't think those tracks are indicative of what the album's gonna sound like. Those tracks are... just fine. But I don't see them as album tracks and I think GD knows that. FOAMF was an experiment, this album seems like it's going to be more of a "Green Day" album. Whether it's good or bad, idk. I'm not gonna get my hopes too high and disappoint myself but I wouldn't be too pessimistic about the album either. A Green Day album doesn't need to sound ""ambitious"" to be good. I know they've been busy doing other things this year but I don't think they've been recording this album for over a year just to release some dog shit product

Plus they were recorded long before the 1972 sessions started. HCTS I think was a FOAM leftover, Pollyanna was released in May 2021, not sure when it was actually recorded, Same with Holy Toledo, released later that year

1972 should reveal that St. Jimmy was catfished by Amanda, putting a different spin on the whole Idiot story.

She wasn't as authentic as he thought.  Maybe he was the authentic one after all.

Now he's traveled through time with the help of The Network and he's landed in 1972 South Carolina where he plans on tearing up the town with positivity.

But a stranger in the shadows might just ruin all of space and time forever now.

LMFAO!!! 😆
But in all seriousness, with all these American Idiot vibes we're getting, along with American Idiot references from the band themselves in the teasers, I'm really hoping this is going to be a new rock opera, featuring characters and events based on Billie and his childhood
