Could be, but they've historically been quiet over November and December (presumably for the holidays), so, again, don't expect anything until next year.

Yeah, the only time they broke that November/December silence was for the Trilogy. ¡DOS! came out that November, and ¡TRÉ! was slated for January but pushed back to December to make up for their absence due to Billie's rehab. And I think the 99 Revolutions Tour was supposed to start that November if I’m not mistaken

The first leg of the 21st CB tour ended on 19th december 2009 in australia I believe

And they also performed at the 2019 Game Awards, which was also in December

I want to make a setlist on .fm so bad.

Say Green Day was in my living room and played FOAM in full with U2 joining them to play a bunch of Network songs and finally, The Saints Are Coming and Too Dumb to Die.

I wonder how much money that would cost.

One of the changes they made after 2012 was fire their booking agent for the inhumane schedule they had

What was wrong with the schedule?

It was packed and too physically difficult to achieve.  Too much promotion all summer, they practically did an entire tour just promoting the record before the tour and the TV commitments were relentless too. It contributed to Billie's drug abuse and collapse. Over the summer they went to Europe then Japan, then England, then back to Europe again and then nonstop shows and appearances in the states with no breaks.  They didn't know where they were or when and it screws with your ability to sleep among other things.

Not to mention early mornings. I think they did GMA just a few days before the iHeart incident

i wonder if this type of run they're doing now where they fly out all over the place to play one show a week is going to stick

And that would also mean shorter gaps between albums

It's fair to think that because they would be home more often to write and record.

but the tours would be way longer and they'd still take breaks

At this point of Green Day's career, I doubt we are getting records more often. I think that every new record could be their last and we sould prepare for that

After 1972 comes out next year, I'd expect the next one to be out by 2026

I think that if 1972 be a big hit, they won't release another record for a long while. Maybe this would even be their last if that was the case

Maybe another long gap like the one between American Idiot and 21CB? (4 years, 7 months, 24 days)

What tour? We're talking about a hypothetical where they fly out to play one show a week and then go home, like they've been doing with these festivals. This is 'strategic touring' like they talked about before FOAM came out.

But these are just festival dates. During the actual tour, there would be 2 or 3 days in between to allow for rest and travel. On some occasions, 2 consecutive dates if 2 cities were close enough to each other.

Lol I'm responding specifically to the idea of playing one show a week, festival or not, and tying it to Billie's comments about strategic touring before FOAM. I don't expect them to do a Hella Mega type tour every year.

You don't think they'll ever go back to the traditional arena/ampitheater tour like RevRad?
