Billie had written Money Money 2020 and was on the fence about how to release it because he didn't think it was "Green Day", though some people tried to tell him to say fuck what people think and just put it out. In the end, of course, they did the side project. I just don't buy that in such a short amount of time there was Money Money 2020, an almost finished C+V album they allege was stolen, and in just one year they pumped out American Idiot. The original rumour was that there were 6 new songs. Then there were photos from Abbey Road (which could simply have been mixing/mastering, but I doubt it).
