localinsomniac
Not to say a collab - however unlikely - wouldn't be fun. We'd all love to check out Dookerton.

Popular Post 龑美優
I would absolutely hate that collab. Then again, I can't stand Weezer outside a couple of their really old songs. 5
That Dude
You know who is due for a comeback and would be perfect for partnering with Green Day for a song? Mark Freaking Hoppus. 1

That would be awesome, but I wouldn't want Travis to get them onto that production style he's doing on 10,000 pop punk albums that all sound alike. We don't need Green Day sounding like MGK, ya know? He's worse than Feldman. But yes, let's get some duel drumming. 9

Popular Post pacejunkie punk
The Foos won three Grammys this year. I think the rock field is wide open for 2023 it's a crime that Green Day haven't won anything since 2010 (even though we all know it's a joke and doesn't mean what it used to). Still, with 5 Grammys to the Foos' 15, something is unbalanced for our legendary band. I don't think they care about this stuff anymore, but it's hard not to be aware of it. Rock as a category is at its least competitive right now. With the Foos sadly sidelined and having just swept anyway, next year is theirs if they want it. They have to realize that as they're making what we hope will be a album that sounds like Green Day doing what they do best. They have it in the them to make another great album and win more Grammys, especially in these times where so few rock bands are competing. They should be competing heavily for that top spot right now. I hope they've still got that fire in them (and no, I refuse to say firing on all cylinders). If they are thinking of this and I sincerely hope so, this album needs to come out in 2022 to be eligible. Is there a cut off date for 2023 Grammys? I just remember the scene from HLAHG where Rob Cavallo is showing them a Grammy statue for inspiration as they record AI.

They seem so comfortable with some of their beloved acts who win so often regardless of quality and competition, yet I want GD to win more!

I don't know why I care, maybe it's the reputation the Academy Awards still carry as the pinnacle of achievement and mainstream acceptance but I want them to win more because they deserve to. It's nice to see them get the recognition they deserve, when they deserve it.

I thought it was interesting that they had the Foos scheduled to perform, but the 3 categories they were nominated in were not presented during the televised broadcast. How this decision went down in my head: Academy: "Let's have a rock/alternative act perform! Like the Foo Fighters." TV: "Okay! But we can't show that genre winning awards because 'popularity'." Academy: "Works for us!"

I can understand smaller categories, but to relegate best rock album to the pre-show alongside best Christian album, best spoken word, best reggae, etc is ridiculous. 4
Christian's Inferno!
Anyone else wondering why on April 4th we still all have this profile picture? I'm beginning to wonder if this is gonna be a permanent thing Regarding the whole grammy thing, I don't really care at all at this point. I mean if they do win one or even just get nominated, then that's cool. But I think whether they get nominated will largely depend on when they release their album/singles. I think the main reason RevRad wasn't nominated is when it was released. By the time the grammies came along, everyone sort of forgot about it. FOA was released in a better time for the grammies I think but also was an album that wasn't very liked by most. Also, if they don't have a pretty big commercial single on this next album (like at least Still Breathing level), it's unlikely that they'll win anything. The only songs/albums that ever win these awards are big singles (or albums that contain these big singles). The actual quality of the songs have next to nothing to do with it. Also the fact that the rock categories aren't gonna air means that I care even less. I do hope that at some point, rock music in general makes a comeback at some point in the 2020's. It's really sad the state it's in right now commercially
