Mike posted on his story 'Team Chris'.. anybody know what that means?

I might just be completely oblivious to something completely unrelated to Green Day but what if he's talking about Dugan and Lord-Alge 🤔

I think he's refering to Chris Rock about what happened last night at the Oscar Cerimony, with Will Smith

They should definitely get CLA back though in my view. And tbh, I don't see why they wouldn't if Cavallo is indeed back.

it would be really nice if they are capable of coming back (again) with a big boom, maybe not like AI in 2004, but more like a still present and rocking GD in 2022 (or 2023, depending on when 1972 will be released) :D

I hope there will be a song or 2 that addresses everything that happened in the past 2 years. Covid, BLM, the election, and the overall political unrest, and now we have the Ukraine situation. This will make it a smash hit just like American Idiot which came after 9/11 and during the Iraq War.

Where else have people seen that Rob Covallo has a scar on the back of his head? Plus I didn’t remember that he has a shaved head - last I saw he had some hair. We we really sure it is him?

I think she means no political songs. At least not overtly political.

I think at this point Green Day is making the best music they can for two groups...themselves and their fans. There really is no pleasing critics or casual listeners no matter what they do, so screw it. I don't think they care about having hits or awards anymore, and they shouldn't. And by hits I mean on alternative radio and streaming because that's the best they can hope for in that area. So I hope they're having a blast and just putting out what they want to put out and with no trying to be something they're not, and with no certain message or agenda.

Edit: And without it being retro power pop.

Yeah. Except for the retro power pop part. Retro power pop is ok to me but the no certain message or agenda I agree 100%. No trying to be something they’re not. Please no.

I really hope it’s as creative and freeing as the Trilogy but executed differently that makes the band and fans blown away and happy. Especially and most importantly the band. Authenticity and evolution of the band is most important.

late to all of this, is there any confirmation that rob cavallo is working on this or is it all just speculation?

The war is a part of personal experience for millions of people and the other issues you’ve mentioned are as well, but none of those things make me excited as good bits of entertainment (especially coming from people who aren't affected by any of it. I'm saying that in a gatekeepy way, I just think experience makes for better songs).
