GDFan2019
I wonder how many more one-off singles we’ll get before the next album
Popular Post Virtuous Xman
To me the music and tempo reminds me of stray heart. However the lyrics remind me of FOMF. And that's okay. My only gripe with that album was it was just too short. Adding these three tracks or four more tracks would have definitely had me liking it more so.

Why does the mix sound so weird? This! Really like the song and how much they packed into it in such a short time. As someone who grew up in Toledo, Ohio...I feel validated by this song. (Even though, "Holy Toledo!" is probably a reference to Oakland A's broadcaster Bill King)

If only we'd elected Opal, we'd have that theme park and they would've had such a great time that they'd actually mention our name in the lyrics 😄 1
BucksCoEric
The song sounds like if stray heart was released on the foxboro hottubs album. I like it! Very interesting song i love the upbeat feel it and pollyanna have had
Rumpelstiltskin2000
I'm getting a bit of a Meet Me on the Roof vibe first listen (and yeah Stray Heart too) From Kevin Quite like it but need to listen to it again. First listen wasn't so keen on the bit where it slows down (a bit like the parts in Graffitia where it does that)

Slave To The Network
I love the Foxboro Hot Tubs sound! So happy this song is lightyears ahead of HCTS. Still not a huge fan of Butch Walker's choices in editing and mixing, but it's a good song nonetheless.

People swear they sing about them all the time, but it's also only 3 songs (Carpe Diem, Wow! That's Loud, and Outlaws). That's it! We've figured out the next album title will be "Bottle Rockets & Razor Blades!“ and will be the first in a new trilogy of " _____ & _____!" albums that ends with the long awaited "Cigarettes & Valentines!" The only mystery now would be what the 2nd album's title will be... bonus points for whoever can figure it out. Edit: Cracked the code! Album 1: Rainy Days & Razor Blades! Album 2: Bottle Rockets & Bratwurst! Album 3: Cigarettes & Valentines! I'll be taking my bonus points now kthx. 3

greenalert997x
I like the instruments are really loud. The guitars aren't drowned somewhere behind the vocal.
Popular Post SumDay
Green Day was my first favourite band. They got me into Rock, made me pick up the guitar and dive into music theory. I was obsessed, watched Jaded in Chicago 1994 everyday after school. The Trilogy were the first records whose releases I experienced live as a fan. Over the time, I discovered new bands, got into different genres etc. Their newer projects always got my attention, but I never really felt the same spark. Sometime last year I finally realised / admitted to myself, that I can't say I really like any project as a whole after Breakdown. There were very good songs, but every project was (harshly said) a disappointment to me. But this song right here, it's so good. Longshot felt like a warm up (and thus disappointing), but Holy Toledo feels complete. It has this confidence, this 'we know we're good bitch' vibe older releases had to me. They never dropped this attitude, it's a key factor why their live performances still rock. But they finally managed to put it back into their music. I don't remember being so happy about a new song in a long time.

Popular Post alienlifeform
You guys talk about Razorblades and bottle rockets, but SHOOTING STARS is a way more recurrent word in songs 4
Popular Post petros
"Party favors/ Sex with strangers/ We don't care what the neighbors say" It's funny how Billie Joe being a horny teenager was writing songs like One of my lies and now that he's a 49 years old man is writing shit like this. 6

That's actually one of his recurring topics. Which is kinda weird if you think about it, because I'm pretty sure he's not one night stand kinda guy. You know, being married most of his life and stuff...

In general you have reason, the BJ's recent lyrics is a kinda meh, but this song maybe was written to fit in the movie theme.

I still say the song may well have been written specifically for this movie, but is one just supposed to stop being horny at 49? 🙄
