And it seems to be tailored very closely to the theme of the movie. Yes, Billie has written a lot of party songs, but a song specifically about an open marriage/swinging is oddly specific. I have a feeling this was written specifically for the movie and they just are still working with Butch Walker. I think it's just generally about partying and one night stands... That's actually one of his recurring topics.

Still seems like a departure from FOAM though, definitely sonically and also not quite as cynical. Still maybe could fit the whole "just party because the world sucks" theme though. Feeling now like FOAM would have been a hell of a lot better if they put on all the stuff they left off LOL.

Yosuke Hanamura
I like it so far, but I need a few more listens to get into it’s constantly changing groove. Also, am I the only one who hears the words “Death Wish Kramers?” 1
Red
I love this! It's almost as if they threw Mother Mary and Stray Heart into a blender, mixed it with a bit of MCR and then made a nice juicy smoothie out of it. It feels inspired and there's a lot going on musically. I can see myself coming back to this one quite often, although I am not sure I am a huge fan of the lyrics. The songs that the band has been putting out recently have been starting to reinstate my confidence that whatever album they put out next can and will be a good one and I get the feeling that wont be too far away given that the boys seem like they really just want to move past the FOAM era given it's absence in setlists.

Beerjeezus
Kinda frustrating when there are recurring symbols but not enough context to put a concrete meaning to them innit

I can't think of anymore Green Day songs but The Longshot has an EP and song called Razor Baby. If you google Green Day Razor blades lyrics, the only songs that come up are those 3, so maybe they are the only 3 that mention it
Popular Post Duhhan1023
This is definitely the best track from this year's releases! Hope they keep on experimenting with their Songwriting. I believe Billie still has more to give.

People swear they sing about them all the time, but it's also only 3 songs (Carpe Diem, Wow! That's Loud, and Outlaws).

That Dude
I am listening for the first time with loud volume. More than anything else, I here Paper Bullets-esque sonic reverberations. I wonder what the rest of the soundtrack is like. Honestly, who cares - I want it!
jengd
Hmm, only listened a couple of times but too much going on I feel. Quite like and agree that its’s a Paper Bulletseque Mother Mary Stray Heart mash up, but with many added bits and I thought Stray Heart was ok at best so, will listen again in the morning and see what I think. None of this helped by what seems to be pretty poor quality sound on these videos with lots of weird erroneous noises in the background!
michael1989
After first listen I think it’s much better than HCTS and Pollyanna. This one actually feels worthy of being released. Very Stray Heart/FBHT. It would have fit well on either DOS or FOAM. I don’t think it was necessarily a FOAM leftover. It’s possible they met up or sent this to Butch to produce after those sessions. Butch did say last year that they were planning to work together on a new album.

That Dude
Green Day Trivia question: How many songs have titles that aren't in the lyrics? I feel like it's new, but it's not. Green Day have been doing it all along. I believe Tre and Rev Rad are the only albums with no songs like this.

legendary
No mention about Warner, they credited Crush Music Media Maybe this explain why YouTube Content ID didn't block the song

Butch said back in April of 2020 that he was getting ready to start another Green Day record so they obviously had plans back then to continue making music together after FOAM. 1
