After one listen- if it was the first song I ever heard, I'd like it a lot, but all I could think was that I've heard this before. I was hearing Iggy Pop's Lust for Life in parts. I find some fresh air in this song! Since I read the title yesterday I was expecting something of a kind of sound between a Mexican saloon and a garage, it is a bit between Mother Mary and a bit Stray Heart, but it's organic, and it works in my opinion, and I find it right as a soundtrack of a movie. I am imagining the official version will sound better. Bear in mind that this is written for a movie about an open marriage, so it had to fit kind of a party theme. I do think it is a big step up from FOAM and also from Pollyanna. Lyric-wise much better than HCTS but I do love the hard rock sound of HCTS too. Also, we are sure this is the real song right? I feel like their recent work has lacked this kind of unpredictability. I didn't know the whole song after the first verse/chorus! Only negative is the overuse of that Mother Mary riff.
