Popular Post Virginia Lot Lizard
Holy Toledo is great. It’s a wonderful surprise right now. I’m so happy about it. NGL I have been very disappointed and disengaged as a fan over the past year since the hype over the Network fizzled out. Pollyanna and HCTS were not very exciting for me. I thought they were lacklustre songs compared to FOAM and now Holy Toledo. Maybe Pollyanna was great live but how would most of us know? This is the least engaging Green Day fan era I have ever encountered. It’s made worse by the pandemic. I did connect with GD fans IRL back before at shows etc but now obviously… Not so much… The No Fun Mondays and the Network felt different. That felt like an innovative way of getting excited and involved and having something to look forward to no matter what part of the world you were in or how isolated you were. No interviews, no engaging social media, a feeling of apprehension about attending live events… It’s been tough on a lot of people and a lot of us have felt left behind. Thank goodness Holy Toledo doesn’t suck. It’s like a well needed silver lining. I have probably listened to that song more in the last couple of days than Pollyanna and HCTS combined. I think I checked those other singles out and then that was it. I didn’t feel a need to listen to those songs more than a couple of times. And I don’t really have much of an interest in rereleased records. I appreciate the history it’s important but it’s not as exciting as a new really great song. Holy Toledo rules. P.S. The Longshot still rules too. I hope the ‘Shot comes back with an amazing new record. I feel FBHT, Trilogy and Devil’s Kind/Longshot vibes through Holy Toledo. It’s a really good feeling. 7

dirnt286
Sounds like an unreleased track from FOAM. Meh. 1

Not so sure, this track sounds nothing like a FOAM track. It has no synths or clapping. It sounds like Green Day getting back to straight up rock!!! But on the other hand, if it is a FOAM outtake, this is probably the reason why it was cut, sounding out of place on the record.

Second would probably be Graffitia. Don't know that I'm mad about the lyrics but I accept it was written for a movie that they're relevant to. The tune is a bop
solongfromthestars
I like it. I've listened to it again unlike Here Comes the Shart and Pollyanna which I don't remember or care enough to go back to. It'll probably grow on me some more yet.

I now really want them to make a song called Here Comes the Shart, about what happens after one eats too much deep dish pizza and then has to spend two hours on stage (*cough* @Squashie *cough*). 🤣
Stark
I'd say this song is so catchy. Reminds me of the trilogy era especially Stray Heart and even all the way back to Mother Mary (fbht). Totally enjoyed jamming to this song so I did a cover as a one man band. 3

AnonymWarnerGermany
The best song since 2016. But for me it's still boring, generic rock. Sorry.
Popular Post Virginia Lot Lizard
Holy Toledo rules. Also. What’s with all these professional guitars? Billie Joe is so hawt though. Back on topic: Holy Toledo rules. The Trilogy rules. The Longshot rules. FBHT rules. Sorry back to the topic: Holy Toledo rules. Where’s the video? I hope it’s out soon! A secret live performance video would be ok with me! Small club show before the next leg of Hella Mega please!
That Dude
Listening to the song at different speeds now. Why? I'm a superfan, that's why My favorite part of the song is at 1:13 with the line "Crawling out of a dead man's bed" and the subsequent "we don't wanna know" lines. oooh, so good. What would this song be called if not Holy Toledo? Sex With Strangers? Death Wish Cravers? Talk of the Town? Also, I just remembered that we keep forgetting about Dreaming. Dreaming is free. Darn, we've got so much Green Day goodness lately.

But honestly, it's nothing new for me as a Green Day fan. This is the way people treated them after Warning, but before American Idiot. I also remember him saying something about not being a fan of anything they've put out since the 90s, so I honestly don't even know why he even bothers reviewing them . It feels like he's just trying to score some cheap laughs from his audience since they're now his favorite punching bag. It's just lazy from "the internet's busiest music nerd".
