Me too. I was just saying to my friend the other day a t-shirt from Warning or AI era they're really thick and good quality but the more recent ones are thin and out of shape after a couple of washes

YES! They're so thin that they eventually disintegrate in the wash!

Hmm serious question - why would they be idiots?

merchandising is very tedious. I’m sure Warner just comes up with designs/products and then Green Day just has to approve it.  They don’t have time to do that themselves so they let Warner handle it and so Warner gets a cut of the money. A win win for everyone,

Green Day used to own their merch they made 100% profit if Warner now owns that means they are now on a 360 deal which is fucking dumb as fuck it serves ZERO purpose for the artists 360 is only there to fuck over artists when a band is on a 360 labels get 65% of every thing a band makes be it from tour album merch anything a band gets money the label gets the lion share they’re for new bands who don’t know the business…

I know i haven’t worked for Warner for years now but I know the practice doesn’t change Warner doesn’t just do merch ownership…

Ah. Thanks the for the insight!

FOA completed their deal with Warner, yeah? Maybe after this tour they will announce they’re going independent and things will change.

GD has had the opportunity to change labels since RR they keep renewing and Billie keeps using Warner for his side projects

maybe the new regime at Warner has changed things maybe GD has just a merch distribution with Warner I dunno I don’t have any contacts there anymore but from the way the label use to operate I just don’t see any real benefit from going from being 100% on merch to giving up some portion escp since they’ve made off hand comments on wanting to go independent in the FOAM era seems weird to have the label have more piece of the pie
