seeing the thread go back and forth on what the point of discussing this is, my two cents is that whether you like the newest stuff or not, I'd say everyone's commenting because Green Day's music was or is important to them. Personally, after devouring every GD album as a teenager, my tastes changed around the time RevRad came out and I while I like to keep tabs on the band, I'm not really up to date with the music anymore. But even though I've fallen off the bandwagon a bit, I will always respect the fact that Green Day makes whatever kind of music they want to make. IMO, the only creative death an artist can have is when they stop making things for themselves and start making things just to please other people. And even if I can't follow along anymore, I'm glad to see the band still doing them.

As for talking about it here, idk if you're gonna discuss your reaction to new music whether it's positive or negative, this would be the place to do it.

"Pollyanna" may just be the best Green Day album since 21st Century Breakdown.

"Pollyanna" is not an album

There have been plenty of songs much better than Pollyanna since 21CBD

But I do agree with your statement to MGDGA

Okay, I've got it!

Green Day 14 should sound like 97% AC/DC and 3% The Who.

The cover should have flowers on it, and vocal harmonies from Mike Dirnt on every track.

Actually, that would be awesome.

They go to the studio with no lyrics or music.

Record Nimrod sounding instrumentals with a dash of Warning and Rev Rad sound.

Vocals are American Idiot esque.

30 songs.

I think they should fully embrace their pop punk flirtations and go for broke with a pop punk album complete with lyrics including “tonight” and “I hate this town”.
