legendary
Father of All cover, Pollyanna cover, HCTS cover, Hella Mega comeback video ... is some of I remember now. All of these stuff was done by a 9 years old kid, I guess, maybe Tré son?! The new songs too, clearly did with small production, in a small studio almost amateur. Why? A band with Green Day name deservers more, much more. Other thing that still bores me: the Network project, It has amazing designs, songs and a very interesting concept. Why they choice put so much effort in a side project but not in Green Day?
Little Boy Named Booze
I think the pandemic have a lot to do with all of this. But yeah they seem to care less for sure, I agree.

Clockwise
It's just a stylistic choice. For their next album perhaps they'll use a more involved/interesting motif.

Popular Post Beerjeezus
The problem is, they have changed and strayed a long time ago. There’s no need to dwell on a “DIY” aesthetic when it’s fake anyway. They have professionals to design the art, so they might as well create art that shows for it.
Flashback
Well to be fair, the picture of the hot dog was taken by a professional photographer. You can see the original photos on Instagram. Green Day tagged him in their latest post 😌
Popular Post Flashback
But serious: I just think that these years of perfection and pushing themselves to the limit just left them burnt out and now they found peace with „good enough“ and that‘s totally fine when they‘re feeling better.
Popular Post Clockwise
I think they're just enjoying putting out art that they are proud of and having fun with and its okay if its not to everyones taste, but its certainly not down to lack of care or laziness.

That Dude
The hotdog is getting a lot of attention. Whatever graphic designer made it did their job right. It's going to get clicks because people will be curious. And then BOOM. New fans, lured in by a weenie.

Only seems fitting since it was Billie Joe flashing audiences at their rise to fame... it's just a ... different weenie now. 1
Popular Post AlissaGoesRAWR
Honestly hot dogs are one of my favorite parts of baseball games, so it's a good marketing strategy for people who are nostalgic for this summer ballpark tour.
That Dude
Wait....what if the song is just about Billie Joe eating the best hot dog of his life? Perspective! 1
Gwen Stacy
I’ve also been pretty disappointed in the art direction they’ve chosen since FOAM. Not commenting on the music so much but the visual style/aesthetic has left a lot to be desired lately. It’s really unfortunate because I’ve felt that to be a high point for the band since… well forever, but especially during the AI/21CB era. Even the trilogy had a unified art theme that didn’t look like ass. And as previously mentioned, the new Network record looks great! They’re one of the biggest rock bands in the world, I just wish they’d be doing something more interesting with it right now.
Popular Post Slave To The Network
21CB had top tier art. That was the last GD era of truly brilliant album art. It's not like it's a huge problem, but if they decided to revisit working with some creative, professional artists again in the future rather than going DIY I would be very happy.

The guy who did the Pollyanna art & HCTS is a professional. He created & delivered what the band asked.
greendepent
I think they move out from Jingletown because it had bad mojo to them after suffering recording 21st CB, so moving to a smaller and "less pro" studio help to keep the ambience in check. And I don't think they sound less produced than before, is just the love of lo-fi hahaha

The building and facilities/equipment were so outdated it was cheaper to build a new studio in a more convenient neighborhood than to keep repairing the old one.

Okay then I guess it's the band I need to give a talking to about their artistic vision instead. Nah, to each their own. I'm certainly not a fan of the direction they chose, but I'm sure there will be a style in the future that I enjoy more.
Thatsername
Nothing they'll ever do, no matter how amateurish or immature it may seem, can shock me anymore after the release of the FOAM album cover. This one sticks😂 So I'm not surprised at all.
