Doggins
I've only had 1.5 listens (got bored 2nd time) but I'm happy that it sounds like Green Day again

In light of this, this is probably where this should be left instead of reverting to conspiracy theories from people with too much time on their hands and a craving for attention. Beerjeezus
Second listen opinion: I like this. It’s very similar to No Fun Mondays. Not sure how I feel about the lyrics, but I don’t want to dwell on it because it’s a nice little summery song. 6 minutes ago, BillieMyLove said: Not sure what this means but if you are also saying no to bizarre conspiracy theories then I approve, so thank you. Popular Post Red
I like it, I don't love it. The harmonies are good, the keys are a nice touch, musically overall much more interesting than Oh Yeah and I'd say it's even better than Here Comes The Shock, but still not as good as any of the singles from RevRad in my opinion. I have to mention that it shares slightly too many similarities to Love is for Losers (Song) for it to be completely fresh and innovative from BJA. Lyrically, while it's nice to hear such a positive song in such troubled times, hearing Billie sing so positively is kind of off putting to me. It's like it seems genuine but I also can't really tell if he's being sarcastic. Then the whistling at the end makes the whole thing feel like he's taking the piss out of a Madden Bros song or something. 😄 RevRad managed to feel like a pretty positive and wholesome album, reflecting on life and it's ups and downs from a matured band.. It had kind of an honesty and genuine feel that I could vibe with.. Then FOAM happened, but that's a whole other topic that I am sick of talking or thinking about. 🥱 Something interesting I noticed though, I initially thought HCTS might just be a one off song, but the font in the promo image matches the font for this song also, which leads me to believe that both of these might appear on a new album, probably releasing later this year.
dallasthemenace
going by the lyrics, SOMEONE'S anti-depressants are working REALLY well... i don't hate it...but i don't get that spark from it, like i do when a tune really connects with me.

Yeah, I don’t think they have ever done this before, releasing 2 original songs without an album. For all we know, these could be leftover songs from the FOAM sessions, yet Billie posted that studio video the other day on Instagram, which to me, looked like OTIS.

Nope, someone and I just had a slight difference of opinion over something and then realized we were largely on the same page. So everyone can move on because there is nothing to see here. Also, my beef lately has been people reading WAY too much into certain things, if you know what I mean. So then, what do you think this song is about? It wouldn't surprise me if the band grab a bunch of FOAM leftovers and other odds and ends along with the cover of Dreaming and put them on a new shenanigans style album. They've hinted at stuff even before FOAM came out and they keep saying stuff along the lines of them wanting to put out as much music as possible. Dreaming didn't go on NFM, so that still needs a physical release, and so far there isn't really any overall theme or consistency to say that there is going to be a era or style.. yet. We'll see though. We've gotten so much stuff from them across FOAM and side projects just in the last year or so, so I wouldn't blame them for just wanting to put out a few stand alone songs before moving on to the next chapter of Green Day and taking their time on making that as best as it can be. I don't think anyone's forgetting that. NFM was full of that kind of stuff, but it eventually made it as an album also. No reason why the same thing couldn't happen here. Personally I'd like to see a physical release of the OTIS mix songs, along with another odds and ends shenanigans style thing as I mentioned above, but it's literally all speculation at the moment, and that's what makes discussion. 2 minutes ago, GDFan2019 said: NFM was just Billie himself. Waiting Church on Sunday Last Night on Earth Somewhere Now Still Breathing Ordinary World Oh Yeah! Waiting and Ordinary World are positive. Last night on Earth as well. The rest have ups and downs, emotional complexity both sad and glad, sometimes at the same time. Which I think this song does a little bit. There's some snark in this song, particularly in the waiting in line part. Heck, that harkins back to Forever Now with Billie saying he ain't gonna stand in line no more! Whoa! The drums at the very beginning.....have we already covered this....sound like OH YEAH. 22 Century Breakdown, haha. 2
