"Pollyanna" - NEW SONG

Sanity Loan

Recommended Posts

We're not quite at a Greatest Hits III time frame yet.   It looks like Green Day do a Hit Collection every four albums, give or take.    Here's what Volume III will start off with:

Father of All

Fire Ready Aim

Oh Yeah

Meet me On the Roof

Dreaming

Here Come the Shock

Pollyanna

We'll be talking about this hits collection on here in......I'd say around 2027/2028.     Think about that.

Album 14, 15 and 16 will be out.  We'll talk about them on here.

And before you know it, we're living in the 30's.     Pollyanna is hard to spell and has me all sentimental.    Gosh darn it.

You guys beat me to it again.   I'm convinced it's a location thing, you guys over there on the other side of the country and getting everything early, and hanging out in Billie Joe's back yard and stuff, living it up like the Californians you are.

I hope to someday visit.   Until then, peace and love from the Carolinas.

Greetings from CA. I live an hour from Oakland, so yeah you could say I'm basically in Billie's back yard :P

Louisiana is the closest I've been to California.

Maybe the song is sarcastic and it's actually the most depressing thing ever.

I am not going through this again. You believe whatever makes you feel good. All I know is I am still disgusted with a lot here and it is why I have been quiet here in recent weeks. However, I will just say I would not continue to support someone I honestly felt that way about, so I am wondering who the real hypocrite is.

I am disgusted with a lot as well. That said, I don’t feel “this way” about him. I don’t know this for sure and I’m not going to judge him because there are unfavorable ways to interpret his lyrics. So no, I don’t think it’s hypocritical to listen to his new song a few times.

Damn, so maybe this song does have a dark edge to it. Yikes. That said, lyrically it would somewhat follow the theme of FOAM.

I think so, but there’s some bias because I’m not into happy-go-lucky stuff in general. It’s definitely more positive than FOAM though.

i like the melody on "screaming on  for love, rise above the shame" that part should be the main part of the song i dont know why is only on the last part.

What is most accurate translation of the french lyrics?

What will be and that's life is what I got using google.

Who is the whistler?

I have so many questions.   Answer them.

This song sounds very blue to me.

Anyone else feel colors when they listen to music?

no, just me?

Who are all these people in the video?

Almost done asking questions.

Green Day 14 is going to...

It's very un-Networky.

Billie has probably found himself disconnected from the Network.

Completely agree. He is cringy as hell, especially his lame "Hey neighbor" catchphrase to start videos. He also always manages to come off very pretentious (but maybe that's just me).

Back on topic: I absolutely LOVE this song. I don't get what people are complaining about here. Definitely going to be the song of the summer for me.

I actually really like this response. In light of this, this is probably where this should be left instead of reverting to conspiracy theories from people with too much time on their hands and a craving for attention. I know you are trying to be funny sometimes, but the whole just isn't funny. We definitely share that disgust.

A short collection of my thoughts on the new song:

- trilogy/longshot vibes, wish the guitars were a little heavier (they do sound a lot like the trilogy guitars)

- "Blows Here Comes My Cock out of the water at least but that also only says so much"

- "It’s not much to listen to actively but if it came on while I was playing Minecraft I would not complain"

- "if drums were nasally this is how they would sound"

I thought something similar with the frowny faces in the videos.  You have the upbeat, forward looking lyrics, but still some apprehension beneath that as well.

There's some darkness in the song for sure.

Rainy days and razorblades

the shades were initially closed.

Hurricanes and headlines.

standing in line.

Shame that needs to be risen above.

But for a Green Day song, I don't think we've heard this much joy since what, King for a Day?   :)

There have been other optimistic songs in more recent years.

Waiting

Church on Sunday

Last Night on Earth

Somewhere Now

Still Breathing

Ordinary World

Oh Yeah!
