It seems like my local rock station is obsessed with OK Human. They play "All My Favorite Songs" at least once an hour.

As for Pollyanna, it got outshadowed by a new 21 Pilots song, and I haven't heard it yet.

All My Favorite Songs by Weezer and Choker by 21 Pilots is getting played 45 times a day it's so stupid.

(As much as I enjoyed Pollyanna, I think I enjoy most songs off OK Human more...)

It’s hard to compare the two bands to me musically because they’re so different. They each have their own lane and do their thing well.

It's pretty much comparing nerds to punks.

That’s because that song (and all of OK Human) is great.

I had a co-worker tell me he heard Pollyanna on the radio and he “didn’t think it sounded like Green Day or their sound at all” which I thought was interesting to hear from someone not familiar with their catalogue.

It's not bad, but that doesn't mean it's all I want to hear.

Like, they may play P!ATD once a week. But Ok Human? Play it more.

But that’s most of Green Day’s catalog. What were you expecting? They don’t make instrumental music, they make music with vocals. You can’t take away an integral part of the piece of art and then complain about it.

That’s like taking the sauce away from spaghetti and then saying that it isn’t good spaghetti.

Not complaining, merely observing. It's a great song.

A lot of their songs are actually decent without vocals.  This one just happens to be that isn't interesting that way.

Weirdly I found that to be the opposite with HCTS, the instrumental improved it.

Maybe we will learn these songs are part of a bigger tune. An 11 minute, 6 part tune that is a sequel to JOS.

He's happy now and even good friends with Amanda and we find out Whatshisfaces name.

You seem like you don't really know GD music. Listen to anything from AI, 21st CB, RevRad or even FOAMF and then tell me their music is not good instrumentally. I'd say some songs are even better without the voice because you can clearly hear all the other interesting parts that Billie's playing. In some songs there are even multiple guitar parts that you can't normally hear. Great example is Boulevard of Broken Dreams or 21 Guns which has beautiful piano pretty much all across the song but you can't really hear it because it's lost in the mix. I recently fell in love with Oh Yeah! after I played the instrumental version of it and I'm not a fan of the song at all.

I urge you to listen to all of the instrumentals that you can find on YouTube and then you might see how bad/lazy their last two songs are.

Yes @Sanity Loan. How can you say something like that. You're talking like if you were close to the band in real life.

This song made me want to listen to Cage The Elephant. It really fits into a playlist with their music.

Oh good point. I love Cage the Elephant!

Yeah, they've only been my favorite and most listened to band for the past 15-20 years so I obviously don't know their music. In addition, being able to play most of their songs on guitar, including the "other interesting parts that Billie's playing", really makes me that the person that shouldn't make a statement like I did.

In all seriousness, I didn't mean for the "but that's most of Green Day's catalog" comment to imply the instrumental versions of their music isn't good; it's quite the opposite. I have the official instrumental version of every album from Dookie up through RevRad and I enjoy listening to them quite frequently.

Speaking of instrumentals, as of now, the only instrumental track in their catalog is Last Ride In! How would you guys feel if they put out another instrumental track on a future album?

Good god, I hope not. Maybe the occasional feature, but I would prefer they stick to The Network (which I do hope we get more frequently in the future) Personally, I don't really like most of Mike taking lead in GD songs. His voice fits The Network sound really well, though, so I would not mind more of that!

I would also love to hear more lead vocals from Mike and Tré on a future album! How about you guys?

Please, no.

Rock and Roll Girlfriend was by far Tré’s best song, aside from his goofy songs like Dominated Love Slave, All By Myself, and, dare I say it, Like a Rat Does Cheese 😆

Mike on the other hand is a better singer with Nobody Likes You, Governator, Modern World, and that “I don’t wanna be an imbecile” line from Sex, Drugs, and Violence.

Even Jason White would be good enough to have a featured vocal spot!

And Monk's Keys, because not a single word was sung, just growling, so it has no lyrics, and it's an instrumental.

I think Mike did great in American Eulogy. I don't really care for his part in Homecoming though
