Instagram Fanpages are being taken down

This is the problem. Instagram said nothing, they just ask to confirm our identify and will analyse in 24h.

GD Italia said they were suspended for "pretending being someone else"... dont know where they found this info btw.

Ho guys, I’m from Green Day Italia (Greenday_ita) and we were taken down yesterday. At first I thought it was an error or something related due the fact there were some bot in the follower as usua but now I don’t know. 
we were taken down for “Stealing GD identity and pretending to be them but in the bio the first thing we say is that this is a FAN PAGE. 
we put so much effort on this, creating a community and all and I can’t understand what’s happening, I always speak to Mike on there and he’s super kind and always shares things so  I don’t think they’re involved. 
Two days ago we also made an Happy Birthday video to Billie and Adie was so happy. 
Also all the work we did, it’s just on their interest to have a strong community, also there are thousands of fan pages maybe they’re taking down the “biggest”? We were almost 11k followers on there

We were took down yesterday, so we did the request and after 24h they said that to us and asked to send them a picture where we hold our ID card to see if we are “real” person, I guess will be the same for you tomorrow

Did the affected fangroups have music clips on their pages? I’m wondering if it was a music copyright claim by Warner like they do on YouTube and someone is just casting a wide net.  Hopefully they will clear this up and being everyone back if they are just verifying identities.

Honestly, why would anyone think the band members themselves would be involved in this? They're not going to be sitting there on laptops bitterly going through account after account deleting content. 

If it's not Crush though, who could it be? Does Bill mean Warner is not involved either by saying "anyone attached to the band"?

Only because it is only the affected party that has the right to report an account for fraud or infringement so that leaves a limited number of possibilities, the band, the management, the label, etc.

Warner may no longer be attached to the band since HCTS was copyrighted Green Day not Reprise. So this could still be Warner making a power move

How pissed off would Warner have to be to make a power move like this?  So glad that Bill made that post, good to know it's not stemming from the boys themselves.  I wonder if we will ever hear the truth/facts behind all of this.  Just another nugget of fuckery that has been the last year.  So strange!

It seems it is an Instagram action, it's happening to other fanpages too and the band is looking what could be done to revert it.

We need a complete list of pages that were removed so we can try and get Instagram to restore the accounts. Can you please post any removed accounts so we can include them in our request?

GDA's instagram was blocked a few weeks ago.  We have been following their "steps" but the account is still down so it is like they want something along the lines of written permission.

It is a Facebook\Instagram action. They did this to tons of artists today. Nobody is sure what they are up too?

On the note of GDA's photo pages.  They were taken down for a different reason and will not be returning as they were.  We will be discussing ways to bring it back in a more limited form at some point in the future.

Maybe they are still with Warner but it‘s the same situation like Taylor Swift and GD now own their master rights. Her new albums also show „(c) Taylor Swift“.
