Heard this song again by accident when it came up in a random shuffle.  It sounds like a parody of a Green Day song and nothing can change my mind.

I still don't understand why the aerobic girl is playing air guitar in the ONLY part in the song where there is literally no instruments playing.

How about this:

Green Day are mocking themselves with "Here Comes the Shock",  making fun of their latest albums and sounds.   They know people didn't like them so they are ripping that style apart with biting cynicism and ferocity.

It's something they learned from Bad Religion.   A little thing I like to call quadruple sarcasm.   You don't know what the band is against, because their songs are so sarcastic while being sarcastic that you can't tell if their sarcastically sarcastic or just sarcastic.     When in reality they are being sarcastically sarcastically sarcastically sarcastic.

Quadruple Sarcasm.

This song would fit into Revolution Radio or Father of ALL.

But with if the whole point of Album 14 is that none of the songs sound like each other AT ALL.   That could be kind of cool.   Complete discombobulation - that's a good album title.

Here Comes the Shock could be followed up by the best produced song of all time, a 12 minute banger with all three guys singing lead.

And then the next song could be eerily reminiscent of Warning.

Track 4 could be a song that sounds like a Foo Fighters song.

Track 5 has an orchestra and is about 20 minutes long.

Oh yeah!

Be proud of me, I didn't name any of these tracks or even attempt to.

Oh yeah!

I'd be glad to forgot this song, but atleast this one is harmless and short unlike certain JoS copycat from their worst album ever..

If I'm being serious, this song is still very bad in Green Day's standard and yes it's just NHL song, but so was Fire, Ready, Aim and that song was great, especially the version where it just starts with guitar and everything else is gone from the intro. Check it out if you haven't heard it yet.

After Fire, Ready, Aim and HCTS I really wish I was rich enough to pay them more than NHL does to not release these songs.

But the intro of FRA is really cool 🥺

I don’t mind FRA it is a good hockey song but also it’s fun to listen to on its own. It’s simple but doesn’t come off like a parody to me the way HCTS does with all the familiar signature lines and gimmicks

I love Fire Ready Aim! Billie's high pitched angry singing in the verses is awesome and super cute :D. There's something really enjoyable about the melody/tempo/singing combo. I love when it comes on when I'm running, it's nice and catchy and energetic. I'd like to see it live, I'd accept it as a Know Your Enemy replacement.

Really? FRA is the song you'd want to replace with KYE. I mean, I'm fine with KYE being replaced, but there's about 100 other songs I'd choose before FRA. Plus, KYE is a better song imo. I wouldn't replace an alright song with a song that's less alright. I'd replace it with something like Murder City. Or like... any of the other songs on 21CB.

No, time for people to stop living in denial and just admit Green Day are proud of everything they release and there is no reason to think they're going to release anything half decent any time soon

They've gone to shit

Everyone calm down (not that anyone is freaking out) but basically omg the hate the Trilogy got and it’s my fav record(s) along with American Idiot and Dookie. All Green Day is good Green Day depending on the mood you’re in or who you are everyone is different. And you can change too and grow to love a song you initially didn’t like at all. My least fav album 21st Century Breakdown and Rev Rad wasn’t that exciting (but still better than 21CB). Except for Gloria and Horseshoes and Hand Grenades and ok the whole record is pretty great. Ok never mind I love Rev Rad and 21CB too.

My point is: holy I can’t believe how much hate the Trilogy got and I think it’s one of the best albums and I think a lot of people have changed their minds after the initial listen. Sure there’s some songs on there I will skip every single time but there are some real good songs like the best songs Green Day have ever wrote on those records too.

Green Day have not gone to shit. They have released 786587 songs during a pandemic and maybe not every song grabs you. That’s fine. They’re grabbing someone else during the time being.

Here Comes the Shock is growing on me and I like listening to it but I’m not going to get a tattoo of it or anything. Not every song needs to shake you to the core to mean that Green Day is still great.

In conclusion, Green Day have not gone to shit and I am not worried about a thing.

P.S. the Longshot rules all.

But that's not Green Day.

But....the same people made it. They made it more recently than FOAM (and likely more recently than Here Comes the Shock). So if you liked that they haven't gone to shit, and the future is hopeful.

The trilogy have a lot of their best guitar solos. And Mike's best bass work since Warning.

The two main problems that people seem to have with the trilogy are the lyrics and the production. The lyrics aren't great, but there's only really a couple tracks where it's really a major issue. I've never really had a problem with the production either

Hey we all know that The Network are just trying to rip off Green Day. Don't believe the lies! They're not the same people

I did some meditation and can confirm Green Day still has IT. The Trilogy got too much hate - true. You don't get FOAM like I do - true. On what extent the next Green Day album be great - God knows. I would like for it to be more understandable and appreciatable to masses than to myself alone. Because enjoying to masterpieces alone sucks. Take the example - Regretfully Yours - one of the greatest rock songs ever written, having only several thousand views, shows that there is something really wrong going on in this world. But I won't kill myself, I will keep surviving, haters gonna hate.

He never recorded or released that song so people don’t know about it. It’s basically his version of Hey Jude and it’s great. I also love Baby Blue I wish he would have released versions of both of those for The Longshot EP.  But The Longshot in general is one of the best examples that he’s still got it. But I get what you’re saying, I want people to know and acknowledge Green Day’s greatness too, and not just for their past glories
