Lol what? American Eulogy is a fucking masterpiece. Some may call it cheesy but that's GD at their best. When they do songs like this, jos, forever now.. or when they are "punky" like bang bang, holiday, st jimmy, you know the deal. The problem is not it being repetitive. The problem is the song writing. Hell I remembered people here hating on know your enemy? Wtf? Lol do you really hate that much now huh? That fucking song at least is an anthem of sorts and it achieved mainstream success at least. Oh man 21st really was their peak wasn't it? Billie was at his sharpest and brightest, he could even compare to Lennon /mccartney/townsend/waters/and even Dylan I may argue. Most fans of this song are either negationist or worst, are unaware of what this band is capable of.

Totally agree, 21CB is their best album in my opinion. But nevertheless I think that Here Comes the Shock would have fit on 21CB or RevRad (at least the instrumental)

Also, Stab You In the Heart is literally Fuck Time 2.0 and that's why it's so fucking good; it's better on every aspect than Fuck Time (lyrics, solo, tempo, singing, instruments etc).

I'm Green Day fan since dookie, and for me Forever Now is their best Song.... wich song is better is something completly subjetive... but Green Day has an objetive music historial Style, so is difficult yo understand people here (real fans) that want Green Day releasing songs like nightlife, Junkies on a high (or almost everything ofFOAM)... I share your sentiment.  Forever now is indeed their best song. Perfect mix of song writting maturity (  i mean  he even said his name at the start lol) aknowleding his failures and being completely honest so is in the same vein of his best work.  Regading to the song.. perfect lenght, love the 3 simultanous voices superimposed. Great instrumental showmanship (specially live). And talking about live, man the energy. That was the way lol but well we  have foam and a shark now yay

I hope the album is called "Here Comes The..."  

and every track has that in the title.   Last words will include Camera, Song, Animals, Cheese, Bullet, Idiots, Grenades, Dookie, Bruise, Love, Light, and the long awaited sequel to Brutal Love, Here Comes the Brutal Hate.   It's written around a Mozart piece that Green Day makes their own anthem about burning down your past and being reborn as a Tiger God.  

Bonus track includes Here Comes the Tre-ain and reuses some of the lyrics from Little Boy Named Train but it's about Tre and his sad, wreckless lifestyle.

Green Day fans are very passionate I will give them that and this is great. Please allow the band to grow and experiment and release a subpar one-off song for the NHL (or whatever is happening here) without having a fit.

Green Day fans are the luckiest and most spoiled fans on the planet. Do not take that for granted. Support the band. They are amazing. We are lucky and spoiled and some of the comments on this thread is kind of disappointing. Some are exciting and insightful.

Being a Green Day fan is amazing. Love it.

He said that about Revolution Radio (the song) too. I had the same reaction. I mean yeah it’s good but...

I wonder what it is about certain songs from his perspective that give him that feeling? It’s a different thing from the listener’s perspective so I’d be curious to know how he judges that.

Sure but what excited him about those songs more than the sixty others he wrote at the time that makes him elevate those above the otbers? Is it the lyrics?  Certain chords or unusual structures in the music? I’m curious

I'd like to know, too. Maybe it's that he's particularly happy with some ideas, maybe it's the subject matter that makes these songs extra satifying to write. They're both inspired by political movements that were emerging at the time, so that could be what made these songs more exciting to write and perfrom.
