ReadyAimFireAllCylinders
Regardless of the possibility of an album, I have a theory considering the quality we can expect from the single. The first Network album was released a year before American Idiot (some may argue this was a way of using songs from 'Cigarettes and Valentines' that weren't good enough by recording them in a different genre). The second Network album was released last year (25 songs, which suggests they've been busy in lockdown, especially as many songs are about the pandemic), which is just a matter of coincidence. But, I feel like it's a good omen, and an excuse to expect something big. Just a theory though. michael1989
The statement they released about the song heavily implies it's part of their contract with NHL. I don't know if it was specifically written with NHL in mind but it sounds like they agreed to debut two songs over the course of their partnership, so perhaps this is one they worked on after FOAM and decided to release it for NHL. I highly doubt it's for a new album. Hope I'm wrong.
Popular Post Little Boy Named Booze
I really don't think it's for a new album and I don't care. Even if it's only for the NHL we are so lucky to have our boys still very active!

They put out three albums in 2020 I’m still enjoying those

Lol Ok Human, Van Weezer, Summer, Fall, Spring, Winter and then a musical. Maybe Green Day will play nice with their hella mega mates and not take the spotlight away from them. 2023 would be the typical next Green Day cycle. But the 20s have been anything but typical. Maybe they SHOULD blow Weezer out of the water or just join each other at sea. Seven albums by Weezer. Seven by Green Day. And two by Fall Out Boy. That's enough.

I gotta tell you, I hope Green Day are feeling the competition because Weezer have stepped it up. I’ve been getting more into them over the pandemic and loving their more recent output. This is a band with a lot to look forward to as a fan (even though Rivers said he’s retiring at sixty!). I want to feel that kind of excitement for Green Day again and not just for their side projects.

GuitarPunk94
wow, i checked gdc a couple day ago and i thought the site is somehow offline (the first page before you even log in has some error messages) today i saw the gd-song announcement on fb, excitement !! my guess is this is just a new song, not connected to a different release in the future (ep/lp), a song for their nhl deal and because its for their nhl deal my guess is we shouldnt expect sth "spectacular", its probably sth short/repetitive in the style of FRA to fit the (rock)-mainstream listeners Edit: are they still with warner or did they leave them now in the end?

Little Boy Named Booze
Is it related or just an old design? Saw this on the Green Day store

Similar style is either a coincidence or they’ve been thinking about their newest material conceptually for a while
