Jankowski576 Posted February 18, 2021 Posted February 18, 2021 This would be a very good time to put out a badass rock song
DeJennsitized Posted February 18, 2021 Posted February 18, 2021 I remember when we first heard Know Your Enemy from the NBA highlight reel, what a time to be alive 😂 I’m also clearly in a minority because I love FRA so if the new song is along similar lines at least I’ll be happy 😂

Know Your Enemy is definitely about something, especially when you consider the broader context of the 21CB album. I have hope for this new song. I doubt they would release a song that was purely promotional at this moment. I get the vibe that they have a lot to say and that we are going to hear some deep stuff from them. Yes, exactly! To me it seems like he wrote a catchy chorus and then just connected it with the verses to make it a song, but each part is good on its own, but it just doesn't seem to make any sense as a whole, lyrically or musically. The individual parts are good, but it just doesn't feel like they belong together. KYE not only makes sense on the album, but it feels like a finished song even on its own (and even if its used to get people to sing along as an opener, which totally gives it a chant quality). Me too! I'm hopeful. I liked Money Money vol 2 very much, so if the song is anything like that, I'll be happy. 7 minutes ago, pacejunkie punk said: Maybe Billie saw that and went "Oh yeah? AnonymWarnerGermany Posted February 18, 2021 Posted February 18, 2021 Me after pretending im not that into green day anymore because I didnt like FOAM, hearing the news and jumping back into the forum

Guest Posted February 18, 2021 Posted February 18, 2021 The new song will be similar to "Sugar Youth" Played backwards.
Redundantuserjinxboy Posted February 18, 2021 Posted February 18, 2021 bold prediction: the song will feature a copious amount of hand claps also hype
Alan86 Posted February 18, 2021 Posted February 18, 2021 Disappointed, 5 pages in and no one has made a fake song to make us fight with each other yet. What has happened to GDC? 🤔

Killjoy From Detroit Posted February 18, 2021 Posted February 18, 2021 the new song will be a 17 minute long opera with hints of folk and dubstep. It will also have a 5 minute long harmonica solo
DookieLukie Posted February 18, 2021 Posted February 18, 2021 1 hour ago, Redundantuserjinxboy said: bold prediction: the song will feature a copious amount of hand claps also hype The hand claps are really obnoxious and take away from the music. Not having hand claps (at least not many) in MM2020Pt2 really drove this home for me.
angryasn Posted February 18, 2021 Posted February 18, 2021 these song predictions reminds me of the deleted scene from “this is 40” with paul rudd and billie joe

Q-Man Posted February 18, 2021 Posted February 18, 2021 I know it probably doesn't mean much but the single artwork doesn't look like FOAM era. I'm guessing it's going to be the beginning of a new era/album cycle. Stylistically gives me the vibes of a RevRad/FOAM hybrid. That's a hybrid sound I could see working. I'm so excited!!!!!
okotavio Posted February 18, 2021 Posted February 18, 2021 I don’t think it’s linked to a new album. The artwork screams “only a single” for me. Either way I’m excited!

Slave To The Network Posted February 18, 2021 Posted February 18, 2021 I saw this on Instagram this morning, but I was at work so I couldn't go on GDC. Words can't describe how excited I am! I'm sure it will be awesome! Proof that Billie is still alive and writing music. I really like FRA. I don't think it really needs to be about anything to be fun. I still think it's a banger of a song.
michael1989 Posted February 18, 2021 Posted February 18, 2021 I don’t think it’s a lead single from a new album. Either it’s a stand alone song or it’s a promotional single for a new album (but not lead). Someone on reddit said the pic of the guys in the cover art were pics taken from a FOAM shoot. I doubt they would use an old band pic for a new single artwork.
tomdsjames Posted February 18, 2021 Posted February 18, 2021 I feel this is just a new song unconnected to a new album as part of the NHL 2 year contract. The artwork to me looks like a standalong single artwork. Plus, as it stands, they are still intending to do the Hella Mega Tour and I don't see them releasing a new album before they've done any touring for the previous album. Could be completely wrong of course as we know they've been feeling very creative during the lockdown but I'm not gonna get hyped up for a new album just yet 😅 Still, a completely unexpected new song is still pretty exciting!
Thatsername Posted February 18, 2021 Posted February 18, 2021 It's so nice to have something to look forward to these days. Can't wait for this!
RedundantIdiot Posted February 18, 2021 Posted February 18, 2021 It was a shock that GD announced Here Comes the Shock yesterday, but supper excited to hear it I wonder if there'll be a music video for it? If it's just a jingle for the NHL there probably won't be a video but if it's for a new album there will be a video.

I thought there might be another video cut in with hockey given it’s first airing, but hoping for a banger perhaps with its own video but can anyone make videos these days?
