Sounds like old Green Day to me though! This is the closest Green Day have come to the Dookie sound yet!

Reminds me a bit of Stab You in the Heart.

Perfectly enjoyable. Not a masterpiece, but pretty much what I expected for an NHL promotion piece.

i mean you're not entirely wrong, it definitely does sound like dookie

It really does sound like this song was released just because they needed to release a song for their NHL contract. No other reason

Oooh it's a fun lil' b-side! Had a smile on my face the entire first listen!

It’s alright, could jam to it. I’d imagine a live performance will bring the best out of this song.

Now, people who think there are hidden gems in the mythic vaults that need to be opened, do you realize that this is it? They’ve  probably got lots of b sides like this and it’s fun to get a surprise song now and then, but I can’t say I’m surprised that it’s not a masterpiece.

Just like the rest of their catalogue, the vault is probably a mixed bag with gems scattered between fun jams like this and failed experiments.

They certainly learned their lesson about whatever happened mix wise on FOA where the guitars sound like they’re coming out of a car engine half the time

Couldn’t have described the FOAM guitar better myself 🤣🤣

Sounds pretty close to all the other FOAM tracks to me 😆

I can't help but thinking if this was on AI would be a little part of a 9 minutes song 😂

That’s a good point. Let’s keep that vault locked 😂

I think its great. Guitar sounds on fire and Tre is slaying this song on the drums...

Well, I found it pretty much boring and forgettable. It sounds like a ripoff of "Beat my guest"

It also uses one of the composition tools that I hate the most, that is repeating a single line without any change.

I won't be messing around on how brickwalled it sounds too. I wonder if they will stay away from that manner in the future

It’s not even as catchy as Beat My Guest with the oh-oh-ohs. That’s more like a Ramones song. Green Day hit that with Ivankkka and Threat Level Midnight but not with this. And what’s with repeating the “You’re doing it fucking wrong line”? Since when have Green Day ever repeated themselves musically? Shameful

I swear ‘you’re doing it fucking wrong’ is actually from an old punk song first but I can’t think of it

I feel like this was recorded at Otis, but produced by butch where they recorded it and then sent him tracks to add his flavor to

@Hermione posted the reference in another thread recently I forget what it was. Some sixties band bickering in the studio captured on a recording

Edit: Yeah it was The Troggs

im pleased to know the origins of that line now. 😭

man...that song....um....alright....

i mean, im still gonna jam it in the car, but its a throwaway tune.

the video is horrible. well, except for 'Nevermind The Buttocks' in the background. that rules.

if that’s what they will be releasing from now on I’d rather have them on the stage playing all of their discography except foam and just give up on writing new music. Sucks to be a gd fan nowadays.
