jengd Posted April 27, 2021 Posted April 27, 2021 I didn’t have to pay any duty on my CD @Rumpelstiltskin2000 but it took a week to get to me from arriving in London according to UPS, delivered by Royal Mail, same as t-shirt.

I do mailorder fulfillment like this as a job, and my boss/the owner of the label tells me to always mark down $1 or something as the item value when I'm shipping international orders. does that make things easier on your end or something? very curious

I remember seething about it at the time so still have all the charges in an old email. The disc itself was a reasonable $28, postage was $44 with no cheaper options. Once it hit UK Customs I was charged import duty at 20%. However it isn’t just 20% of the cost of the goods, they include the cost of shipping too so I had a £10.37 charge, plus a non negotiable £13.50 handling charge for the privilege of them facilitating it. So for a $28 record, it ended up costing over $110. It still makes me a bit annoyed when I think about it 😁

Here are all of the cards for those who didn't order them and want to see them (quality is better if you enlarge the images)! Looks like Fink and The Snoo have the exact same stats. I wonder what's up with that. And why is Van Gough so fucking fast?! For anyone wondering, I added all their stats and Fink, Snoo, and Van are all tied at 27.5. Balducci is next at 26, Z is 25.5, and Captain Underpants is the weakest at a measly 22. What do these stats even mean? Who the hell knows. Fun fact: Snoo's card has a typo on it. It says "...entertained dozens though the years..." when it should say through. Spoiler
