Myself and some other GDCers made an executive decision last night that if Kevin becomes a member of The Network, his name will be either Dink or D-Man.

That's the best we've got?

What if Mike is secretly Fink? What if Billie actually hates The Network? I think I'm onto something...🤯🤯

What?

They are, believe it or not. At least from my experience that's what I learned.

From experience no spider has ever been afraid of me, where as the sight of one turns me into a blubbering mess. I’m not proud of it but what can I do ? 😂

I don't normally make requests like this, but if any of you who have Instagram could repost this at Billie, Mike, Tré, The Network, and The Longshot that would be super cool. I'm sure their feeds are getting filled with people atting them so they don't look through most of it. I just think the potential reactions we could get from them would be pretty hilarious if they see it.

I would see it as an opportunity to collectively troll them.

the tarantula clip is now on youtube. set the speed to x0,25 and you can see mike's old profile pic in the bottom right corner at the end.

how long ago was that his profile pic? I guess that could give us an idea of how long this has been in the works

Jason is Balducci. You can tell from his stance onstage.

I still think only the first verse sounds like Billie. I'm sure the whole song is him, I just can't hear it in the chorus or bridge.

I think the first part of the bridge is Mike (the bit that starts "Back In Black was our favourite track...")

But I'm mostly certain that the rest is Billie. Do you not remember how different he sounds in Money Money 2020? He does it on purpose.

He had it as that until Monday, I think...

he’s only recently changed it.

And Billie still posting screenshots of comments to his stories.

oh and a new song teaser, which is up on “the network” YouTube channel.

Okay, what worries me is that the tone of the teasers vs The Ultimate Test are very different. They sound like they belong on completely different records. I still believe that TUT is real, but I am starting to think it actually hasn't got anything to do with this new stuff from The Network and might actually be a proper Green Day song.

or it's material from different recording sessions. i didn't listen to tut yet, but maybe it's a 17 year old b-side? bit of a stretch i know

It could be a demo, but I doubt it. It seems to have very modern production qualities and has Billie's more "aged" voice in it.

The Network teasers they have released so far just sound like straight up New Wave in the same style that the original Money Money, 2020 record was. TUT is much more on the Rock side of things and even features a guitar solo in it.

I highly recommend checking it out.

Also I have said this before this year but... "Even if this somehow does not end up being Green Day (it totally is) I dig it and I will listen to it and anything like it no matter who made it."

Well based off Mike's profile pic being in the Tarantula video, that YouTube channel must belong to the band -- and The Ultimate Test is labelled as The Network there. So I'd say it's safe to say this is a Network song one way or another

Thing is, TUT is on a completely different channel than the other teasers. It is featured on a channel that was originally just some guy called Blake Darko claiming that he was sent the song from WB and leaked it.

This channel was only changed to "The Church" when The Prophecy came out on the other channel.

I don't know what's going on but I just don't see this song being on the same album as Tarantula.

Ope my mistake

Well then it could be anything altough i'm thinking it could still belong on the same album given how different some songs on MM2020 are. My bet is it's a demo and we'll hear an updated version which has better production and perhaps fits more stylistically with these other tracks.

Can't see the song being released under Green Day, unless they were to re-record with a more traditional sound.

I tried writing out the lyrics for The Ultimate Test, some of it I couldn't probably hear right but I hope the rest of you all could help out.

[Verse]
This is for real
Will be when the band starts playing
So we are coming home
So get used to being gone

Worn out your worn-out welcome
And now you dance to a different drum
So pack your bags and get on the bus
I'm only there(?) when you're short of water fuzz

[Chorus]
Sound the alarm
My friend is coming home
Too many years since you've been gone

Face the facts
Whatever up is next
Will be The Ultimate Test

[Verse 2]
I let you another time
You were so innocent
Sinners and the other guy
And now you seem so different

All lies, a thousand darts
You were out, and you're playing for cause
All lies and a thousand years
Love can imagine where you've gone

[Chorus]

[Bridge]
I knew you put inside(?)
I knew you through the other lie
I knew you wouldn't stand apart

I know all what you've done
And I know the party wouldn't die
I know I'll find you at the club

No

[Verse 3]
Back in the club was your favorite track
You would all have gone the one-way alley(?)
The dirty leaves that evolve the future
Nowhere to go but we couldn't stay

But we were young and so naive
A dirty dream that will live to follow
Looking back, I can see you now
Through all your words, an hour, an hour(?)

[Chorus]

Will be The Ultimate Test [x4]

If you ask me about the meaning of it for me, I'd say that what he wants "gone" and "on the bus" is sobriety. The friend who's coming home is alcohol (relating to the god damn Church of Lushotology), and it's going to be the "ultimate test" to see how it ends up.

Then the song turns to blabber about Amanda, probably and finds, in the end, that said ultimate test is to stop reminding himself of her because now, the "friend who's coming home" in the last chorus are the thoughts of her again.

Banger!

Yeah I had to make it about Amanda.

I hate being short of water fuzz.  That is even worse than heart break.

Mostly because I am the last gang in town. My heart cannot even break because it doesn't even pound.

We need to keep our eyes on the lyrics and see what is connected to Green Day 14.  I bet there is a connection.

I think the Network were a Green Day cover band that did too much marijuana, cocaine and booze.  They had a Joker-esque breakdown in the 21st Century and after stealing the masters of a Green Day record, They transformed into this cool little band they are today.

I think I need to write some Network fanfic or something.

Wouldn't it be wild if it really wasn't Green Day? Our collective minds would blow.

Hello.

If your are not a full lover and supporter of The Network....

Just remember.  No Network means no American Idiot.
