Gonzalo17
American idiot (i'm fan since dookie) is the best album, followed by Nimrod
Freezing Melons
I've been rocking 21st Century Breakdown a lot recently. It just seems so fitting even 10 years later.

Idiot / Warning / Nimrod. I have a tough time picking between those three. I'll give the number one spot to Idiot, but I am torn on the other two. They are both extremely sentimental for me, Nimrod even more so. But Warning is more of a solid album.

solongfromthestars
I always want to vote for a trilogy album in these polls so they get some love because they're fabulous, but I have to vote for 21st Century Breakdown. It's a masterpiece. So are American Idiot and Dookie, obvs, but 21st Century Breakdown is on another level for me.
Guest
So many great opinions here. I agree that Warning is a very good album that does not get the credit it deserves, and the trilogy also does not get the respect it deserves either. And 21st Century Breakdown is amazing too. Basically, all Green Day Albums are amazing and deserving of love. ❤️

Want to charge through your tasks, Insomiac, want to sing along, Nimrod and Warning, want to dance, the Trilogy and FOAM, epic AI and 21 CBD .... DookieLukie
I'll always been emotionally attached to AI. 21CB I think is a well-made album but I don't find myself going back to it much. Nimrod is becoming a personal favorite. It's so well produced, so diverse, and has some great lyrics (which, given he wrote them all in studio, is even more impressive). Just a fun album with some of their best songwriting and performances.

Boulevard of Broken Dreams was the first Green Day song I ever heard, and it felt like someone had written a song just for my life. I wanted to hear everything they ever made afterward, and I was not disappointed.

That Dude
It makes me so angry that two compilations are included. If compilations were a choice, add all the other ones as well. Demons made this list! This must be the same person that made the Weezer tier list and included Death to False Metal for some reason. Haha
Joe.
For me the best songs are on Dookie and AI, but the best overall ALBUM is nimrod

I suppose for a long time I saw myself forced to put either AI or Dookie as my number one choice, since there's so many good songs on both and since both are also easily the most relevant albums in GD's catalogue. But while I still see myself putting AI at number one, mostly because of a personal attachment (it being the album that got me into Green Day) and the fact that it's a damn good rock opera, I'd now put Nimrod at second place. Dookie has some cracking songs and basically kick-started their entire career, but as an album, I find Nimrod to be better produced, more varied and mature. Dookie's songs will forever be classics and great live, but when choosing to listen to an entire album, I prefer listening to Nimrod these days. Still, on the odd occasion it's always great to get the original Dookie or Insomniac vinyl out and listen to the whole thing from start to finish. I really do reserve that kind of thing for special occasions though....
Thatsername
I'm team American Idiot, hands down. For me it's still the most ambitious and courageous thing they have ever done, something no one expected from them. I love 21CB too, but it's definitely weaker than AI. I see the effort, but it feels like they are trying too hard, and there are some songs I got sick of very quickly (like Last of the American Girls, I just hate that one). On AI, they just nail every single song, there is not one weak moment IMO. My second choice would be RevRad, I guess, because it's so honest and heartfelt and it helped me through a very difficult time in my own life. Fredes
Can't believe 21stCB and especially RevRad have more votes than Warning or Kerplunk (best GD album). What the fuck is wrong with you all.

Rev Rad's my favorite because of the emotional journey it takes you through of Billie's rehab and recovery. And two of my top 15 GD favorite songs (Bang Bang and OW) are on it; Forever Now's not far behind. There's not a single bad song on it (Youngblood is lesser than the others, but still enjoyable). AI, well, it's AI. Nimrod would round out my top three for the variety of songs and because I think it's their best lyrically speaking. And Good Riddance is my all time favorite GD song.
