Does Green Day do meet and greet at their shows?

if they do there is usually a regional contest about it but it's not at every show

Not at shows, but they occasionally do them at shops. The last one was before the RevRad Tour at Hot Topic.

It's also much easier to meet them after shows now than it used to be, so you've still got a good chance of meeting them even if they never do a meet and greet again.

Billie with fur babies is the best 🥰

I love how the cat was less interested to meet Billie than the other way around

Yeah they're not the type to charge for a meet and greet (thank god). I've mainly heard of people meeting them by running into them before/after shows.

I'm so happy they don't charge for meet and greets. I know a lot of bands do it, but it's something I don't agree with it, unless it's for a charity or something. For me, it's more memorable if I meet a band after a show or a regular no charge meet and greet. Feels more genuine to me.

I’d never pay for a meet and greet, might as well go to a brothel

😂 Exactly. I’m guessing they don’t do it because it makes them feel dirty too 😜

I think the only instance where I would is MAYBE if the Cure did it? Because I have no idea how I'd meet Robert Smith otherwise! But seeing as The Cure's not really into meet and greets, it doesn't matter. Plus, the prices for meet and greets are so insane I would end up not doing it anyway. An extra 200 -400 bucks doesn't sound worth it for a rushed, awkward photo.

I hung out after a Longshot show and got my rushed, awkward photo for free 😂

If there isn't a scheduled meet and greet, you have to figure out where the guys inside the building.

Once you figure that out, you'll need to pull out all your fake ids necklaces.   Compare them to people you see coming and going.  Use the closet one and act as casually as possible as you slip through.

Upon reaching the band, you need an excuse for being there.   I usually go with a "Hey Billie, the techs have your guitars all set up and ready to go.   Not sure why, but they wanted me to let you know."     and every now and then throw in something about "the record exec's REALLY want you to play The Saints are Coming.  but no pressure".

Fiddle around with random things in the room, looking busy and like your belong there.  Then plop down in Billie's lap.  Ask him how everybody's doing.   You can do this with or without a cat, it doesn't matter.   Have some casual banter and then exit the way you came.    You don't want to miss the opening acts!

The people that stalk their hotels and then sit in the lobby all day until they come out are assholes. Don't be one of those people (not saying you would be). Can try and meet them at the venue after a show, thats your best bet aside from in-store meets.

Agreed... that said, I can’t really relate to people going out of their way to meet the band because I feel like these “hi I’m a big fan of yours” are usually inherently awkward and don’t really mean a lot. Obviously it’s different when you talk to regular small band after show, but with people who are popular enough to make fan interaction a chore for them, I feel like it’s better to let them live.

Agreed, its not something I would go out of my way to do unless it was organised by the band. I bumped into Chris Shiflett from Foo's before a gig and had a nice spontaneous chat, rather than IVE SLEPT OUTSIDE YOUR HOTEL FOR 12 HOURS I LOVE YOU

Yeah I wouldn't feel comfortable camping out to see them. I'd rather meet them after a show. I'd even feel awkward seeing them out and about. I would probably be too shy to approach them for the fear that I was bothering them. That's why I prefer organized meet and greets or seeing bands after the show. This band I like called Night Riots usually talks to fans after their show and it's always a great time! And they try their hardest to talk to everyone. It's so sweet!

This is literally how I feel. I'm sure I'd be way too shy. It just seems weird to try and approach if you were to just see them randomly doing their own thing. It would be better if you unknowingly run into them under circumstances where an interaction would be acceptable. Not something like "Oh hey, there's that person sitting over there minding their own business. I'm going to go over to them and force them to interact with me."
