Yosuke Hanamura
I liked FOAMF for the most part, and was a massive defender of it to detesters before the album released. THAT BEING SAID! Butch producing another album?..

I think FOAM has a great sound, actually I’d say it’s one of their best albums sonically, but Butch has helped turn way too many acceptable bands to music for commercials, so I still don’t really trust him. It’s like... he did an awesome job on this one, but there’s a song that only made the cut because it got sold as a jingle lol

For all we know, it turned out well because it was one of Butch’s good days. In the future, I think a good approach would be for the band to self-produce the songs in which they completely know what sound they want, and get a producer’s input when they’re unsure. I have no clue on how the music industry works, so please forgive me if what I said is undoable.

Well in the clarification video they showed that the drums can be made in Logic Pro. Beside that, Braedon often talks about what "he" does and not what "they" do, so I could imagine they can easily work on new songs without being in the studio together

That Dude
Butch Walker is about to start a Green Day record, but will Green Day be joining him in this process? He could go Panicland on us, perfect his Billie impression and go it alone. It could be called Always Another Opus. Rumor has it Billie plays bass, but it could be that Fink guy. Oh and there will be all these songs titles with words in them. An entire tracklist of them, if you will. I won't speculate what those titles could be....you guys know I hate that. That Dude
Those sneaky bastards The Network have been working on their second album since March 19th, 2009 or earlier. While it may or may not be called Omega 3000, that is definitely a song contained within it's heart of darkness. You know how Panicland recorded a Green Day record? Well, While we are waiting for The Network to put the finishing brush strokes on the album, I think Green Day could do a bang-up job of pulling a Panicland and making Omega 3000 under the Green Day name. They could probably find some costumes and everything. Not sure what the hold up is, but I NEED more NETWORK in my life. If Green Day 14 could sound like that, I'd be a happy person. If the REAL Omega 3000 could drop, I'd be a happy person. I'm generally a happy person anyway, due to massive amounts of Green Day and Network being injected into my brain. But still. Gotta. Have. More.

They had that feud one time. And were on Billie’s record label for a while. I know it wouldn't BE The Network, but if Green Day put on masks, and got the Big Three to help them out and made music that sounds like Devo with Mike Dirnt fronting them.....it would be very close. Omega Mega. 3000 3000. Omega mega. 3000 3000 (to the melody of Money Money 2020).
DookieLukie
I didn't mind Butch's production. I actually liked that every part of the band was able to be heard on FOAM instead of just guitar and messy drums. The songs are pretty self-produced. I think Butch has a lot of potential with the band IF they present creative material and get rid of the clapping tracks they've been using since the Trilogy. That Dude
*rubs hands together. Sweet. We have now entered the "what will the new album sound like" phase. This phase can last for a long time but are so fun. They aren't fake tracklist levels of fun, but I'll take it. I can't get kicked off GDA, it's 58% of all my internet activity. Wikipedia and you guys are my entire internet experience. and a few other websites that don't need my publicity here. lol in reviews of later Green Day, many critics have said the rhythm section is phoning it it. Proficiently, but not going above and beyond. Which sometimes is what a song needs, but I do wish Mike and Tre would take some bolder steps. Billie's vocals and guitar playing have improved over the years, and the guys WERE getting stronger during parts of their discography but now I'm not hearing it. Maybe all three need to take lessons like they did before some of their best work. Listen to some more different types of music, and create something really, really fresh with Album 14. Something that will make people go "who the heck is playing the instruments on this new Green Day record? That can't be those guys!!!!" Something that will make people go "who wrote these songs? Green Day??????"
jengd
I think there is some great stuff on FOAM from both Mike and Tre!
Flashback
I love the claps. I don‘t need them in every track but they fit perfectly to the context of FOAM. By example they give the intro of FRA something really powerful

That Dude
It's going to sound like a country album through a Network filter with a dash of Foxboro Hot Tubs sprinkled on top. None of that Green Day stuff though. That's over.

That Dude
Billie is going solo after the success of his debut single, "I Think We're Alone". Butch Walker will become Green Day's bass player starting in June and Mike will play drums and be the new front man. Tre will play guitar. The Big Three will be a choir that all play harpsichord solos during shows. This version will only write songs about the 70s and 80s and being vegan. They vow to never play hit singles during concerts ever again. They end every show with "The Saints are Coming" and "Freebird". They will inexplicably wear masks they claim to have stolen from The Network, but they don't really look the same. The Network join them for songs a lot, and they perform without masks. One guys looks a lot like Billie Joe.
