WhiteTim
I hope he releases the rest of the remixed/re-recorded Trilogy songs (I hate odd numbers so I added Fell For You as the last track to the iTunes EP)
Jimmy Strummer
First impressions: Lazy Bones: I can't really make out Mike's bassline, which is a shame because that was one of the few positive things about the original mix. Also, it just sounds a bit too muddy overall, but maybe they just dropped the ball on this one and the rest are fine. Wild One: Ohh... ohh, this entire thing is gonna sound muddy, isn't it? ... Ohh no. The added guitar parts and feedback are nice, though. Oh Love: still too muddy, but out of the three songs here, this one definitely benefits the most from a bit more low-end. Yeah, I think overall they're fine, but they're seriously lacking in the top-end. I had to go back and listen to the Fell For You remix just to be sure I wasn't crazy, and no, that one sounds a lot better than any of these other three. I'll admit the Trilogy had serious mixing problems and any/all improvements on it are very much welcomed, but I dunno, if they had just given this EP a little more clarity by boosting some of the highs, I think it'd be infinitely better. Beerjeezus
I wonder if there three are new or from the same session as Fell For You since they sound different

Forever Now video next week? 😂 It's going to be shot at Mike Dirnt's house. He's going to be dressed up as Billie and Tre and even the backing band. And all the characters that show up. Think the Holiday video, but EVERYONE is Mike. There may even be other versions with each band member doing this . So........they sound exactly the sound to me.
killjoywhatsername
I’m still in utter love with the Wild One remix. Now for the Nightlife remix.

papa
while this is a nice surprise, i think it's time for billie to move on and accept the failure of the trilogy. no need to re-release 8 year old songs anymore. love, p.

Beerjeezus
I admire his relentlessness but I think he’s perfected it with FOAM so now he could move on, but I don’t think he will because it seems to be the kind of music he wants to make. ¡Nunes!
"Oh Love" is the one that got an special treatment, I liked this version. "Wild One" felt heavier, liked this one too, thought he added a piano but at the very last second I understood it was a guitar. "Lazy Bones" is just too perfect to be touched, didn't like the drums on this new version.

I think he's took at as far as he can. Its a sound that didn't really need to be touched anyway, and I think FOAM is the final nail in the coffin for it on a Green Day album.

It’s a good sound but I can’t really see a way to take it further from Foam.
Jankowski576
The guitars are heavier on these but the mix is still pretty poor - which probably isn’t something Billie can easily fix. The guitars are SO low
Bakabanas
And this, ladies and gentlemen, is what FOAM sounded to me when I was on psychoactive substances. Now it is like Lazy Bones, Wild One and Oh Love took the same substance. You get the idea - awesomeness ×10.
Little Boy Named Booze
Maybe I don't have the ears for these kind of remix but I don't find a lot of difference between the original and the mix.
Popular Post Grinch
Not sure why people keep insisting that Lazy Bones was unnecessary or hardly sounds different. The song sounds HUGE now. Imagine if they released this mix as a single back in 2012. It probably would've been at least somewhat successful.
Squashie
It sounds so good. That little ear candy after verse 2 in wild one 😍. Wild One is one of my favorites from the triology. Guitars definitely sound bigger in these new mixes.
pacejunkie punk
I set up each original and its remix to play back to back in a queue and you really can hear the differences that way.
Bronni
These new mixes got me wishing for an Amanda (Otis Mix) with the original guitar intro... 😥 Edited April 3, 2020 by BronniIsGod
Lenny
I got to listen to each briefly. I think he did some stuff with the vocals too. I'm at work can't fully take it in. I keep getting pulled into meetings so I've only heard bits and pieces so far. I will say I think we can expect a remastered and remixed Trilogy some day in the future. The guitars do bring some life to the songs and they don't seem as flat. Seems like my opinion about the weak guitar sounds on these albums playing a huge part in it's reception has more validity as more of these remixes come out.
DookieLukie
He should just re-record these songs. The vocals don't match the Longshot/Revrad style guitars and drums. They sound out of place.

There's a lot of extra guitar stuff on these songs that are so far back in the original mixes or are practically muted and not included in the songs. It's a shame cause I thought those little parts are what differentiated the songs from this era when finally hearing them in the demo versions and remixed versions. 1 hour ago, Grinch said: Not sure why people keep insisting that Lazy Bones was unnecessary or hardly sounds different. It's still the same song mostly just the guitar sound has more gain. If any song was meant for the lighter guitar sound on the trilogy it's Oh Love. Wild One definitely becomes more interesting with all those little parts moving up in the mix and of course with the guitar driving the way it is. I liked this. I didn't think Wild One was a terrible song in 2012 I just thought it just needed better guitars. It needed a bit more of a dirty mix. Lazy Bones is the song that really comes to life with the guitar remix. It adds a ton of energy to it.

And I think it's worth pointing at that Reprise Records is still showing as their label. I'm pretty sure any back catalogue stuff would be released on Reprise regardless, and the only way to settle the is GD going indie thing is looking towards new stuff being released
Clockwise
I'm going to put together a playlist consisting of the 4 Otis remixes and the higher quality Demolicious tracks.
monkeyupinspace
just listened with some studio monitoring headphones (beyerdynamics 770 pro's). oh love / wild one are better than the original versions but lazy bones sounds a bit messy to me. hopefully they'll remix some more songs. btw. the cover looks like stop, drop and roll!!!
