The way I understand it, it sounds like it’s pro but that’s meant to show how coaxing religion is, then the chorus is pretty straightforward, calling the religious sheep and jesus just a corpse on a cross.

After a few listens, it sounds like someone struggling with understanding their faith.

Heh, the lyric video has a typo: “Aboslute”

Cool song, I’ve never heard this. Appropriate of course

Yeah, that’s possible. Maybe it’s about a conflict between how they experience faith and how religion is presented?

To me it sounds like being promised salvation if you follow all these rules and everyone buys into it but the person is thinking of their sins and hoping that it’s true and they get redemption someday.

I am definitely going to burn a cd with all these together.

Because it's Billie, I'll probably waste a bunch of CDs by burning a new one each week.

I Think we're Alone Now

Manic Monday

You Can't Put your Arms Around a Memory

Corpus Christi

and maybe the acoustic performances as well.

BILLIE JOE 2020!

Mostly female fronted bands, NICE!

Cool song but it's my least favorite of all No fun Mondays songs.

My least favorite is probably the Arms Around A Memory one.

I agree. I can't really pinpoint why but it didn't really hold my attention much.

Wow, was not expecting that, he never fails to take us b surprise does he.  I like it but it needs more listens and I too can’t decide what the message is but again, good job.

I'd be happier if it was anti-religion, which I guess it can be interpreted that way because of the sheep part? The Avengers are a secular band, so I'm assuming it's not pro religion. Weren't they a part of the Gilman Street scene when GD was first starting?

Superb cover, though! Billie sounded absolutely fantastic!  He just keeps getting better and better.

I could listen to it finally lol I think it's very good when Billie shared this song, I didn't like the original version that much but I'll keep listening to his cover. Btw, I try to upload all the covers on SoundCloud to I can listen to them easily, wanted to share if anyone interested but 'I Think We're Alone Now' gets copyright warning, couldn't get why cause I uploaded before and deleted it to reupload in higher quality then it happened but I added a different upload to that playlist anyway

No, they were pre-Gilman.  They were late 70s in San Francisco.  Billie also did a song with Penelope Houston (lead singer of the Avengers) in the 90s that was on an episode of Friends.  The Avengers were talked about a lot in the book Gimme Something Better.

Great cover. I know this is one of Billie's fave songs - he must have posted it on his Instagram three or four times already!

Digging into the discographies of the original artists and oh man, Billie has some amazing taste.

I probably won't be going TOO deep with the Bangles, but they've got a handful of songs that everyone has heard and are pretty good.
