I pre-ordered FOAM 5 months before it was released and didn't get it until 2 months to the day after the album came out.

Well, my birthday is at the end of January - hopefully I'll have it by then!

I recently listened to all the original songs Billie covered and found he didn't really stray from them. He does a good job covering them but it would've been cool if he did something crazy with a few of them. Add his twist to it.

I heard Dreaming on the radio the other day and it seemed identical until the vocals came in.

Yeah most of them are identical to the original songs, which is fine, but I would've loved if he revamped a few of the songs.

Today.  Between 1pm and 5pm.

I listened to it on spotify last night at insanely loud volume, and that is how these songs are meant to be heard.  I fell in love with even the worst of the bunch (gimme some truth)

Imagine Billie (perhaps backed by his rivals, The Network) playing these songs in a small club.   Maybe 20 of the GDA elite.....maybe 50 so I can get in to, haha.

This would be the greatest concert ever.

My copies are out for delivery...but it's going to the wrong address. It's not a huge deal because I'm actually at work today, but I contacted Amoeba and asked them to change it to my home address, which they said they did

If I get your copy, I do the honorable thing and get it to you.

I may have to wait until I get mine and compare them, but after that I'd give you the less good one....I mean your copy.

This is something I have seen in record stores, looking at cds I already have and finding differences.  Sometimes small, sometimes not so small.

To make it worse, not only did they use my work address, I forgot to give them our suite number. And it says it's been delivered, but there's nothing here and the mail carrier doesn't come by til later in the day. Sooooo I have no idea what's happening.

I think our mail carrier scanned all packages before they actually started delivering them. I absolutely hate it when they do that. And it's happened to me before. Says it's "delivered" in the morning, but I'll get it late afternoon. So I hope it arrives today. I also told the security desk to let the carrier know about the missing suite number and where it should go just in case. I would hope that the carrier would, you know, just read the company name and realize there's other mail for the same suite, but I honestly don't trust that.

I just shot my unboxing video for No Fun Mondays and as I type, Side One is coming to a close.

While I am disappointed with the booklet, or lack thereof, what IS in there is pretty darn fun to look at.   The vinyl has some design elements that are cut off on the cd format and the barcodes are in different spots but they are basically identical.    I don't like sideways back cover or that there aren't numbers, but overall, it's a great looking record.

The baby blue vinyl look really nice and Side One played very smoothly.   Had one small skip and that was it.

Here's where I nerd out though.

The credits.   I was under the impression Billie did everything on every track, but there are some friends present on here.    Chris Dugan plays drums on four of the tracks, while Kids in America got a whole band!    Armstrong.   Dugan.   White.   Schneider.    Schneider is in the Coverups, but we haven't seen that particular combination together before, have we?      Makes me wonder if they banged out any other tunes together, or they all just emailed Billie their parts and that was it.    Maybe we'll get yet another Side Project out of this specific band down the road :)

Here are my nerd notes for those of you who want the scope about the credits.

I think we’re alone now – solo

War Stories – solo

Manic Monday  - solo

Corpus – Chris Dugan on engineering and drums

That Thing you do – solo

Amico – solo

You Can’t Put… - solo

Kids in America – engineered by chris dugan.    Guitar by Jason White, Bass by Billi Schneider, Drums by Chris Dugan,

Not that way anymore – chris dugan on engineering and drums,

That’s Rock N Roll – Solo

Gimme some Truth – Chris dugan on engineering and drums

Whole Wide World – Solo

Police on my Back – Solo

A New England – Solo

Like I said, mostly Billie doing everything, with Chris Dugan engineering and playing drums on four and a whole band on one song.    To my ears, the ones Billie did alone sound better than the ones Chris engineered.   Anyone else hearing that?

Anyway.  I have to go flip the record over now.

The Coverups are BJA, Dugan, White, Schneider and Mike.  So KIA is basically The Coverups minus Mike.

I may write up how No Fun Days is a concept album at some point.

Right now I see that side A containes more personal songs, while side B is more about the state of the world.

There are exceptions.  War Stories and A New England could be switched, and Not That Way Anymore.

Listening to That's Rock N Roll right  because that's the best tune ever!

I think the GD UK store must be sending these out via donkey post!

Hey folks, does anyone know who plays the instruments on the songs? Are they all BJ or Mike and Tre by chance? Or someone else?

Edit... Never mind read the thread lol
