Jean
I was kind of hoping it would be a duet since Susanna was included. Still sounds great though.

I find myself doing the same thing, so if definitely makes him seem more human. This post aged well 😂

Popular Post DookieLukie
Honestly Billie's musical style fits these older songs so well. Now I know why the Longshot worked. GD needs to try these classic sounds.
Annie, get your gun
My wish was that he'd finally record I Want You To Want Me, but I guess it's not the right one for the lately moods. I hear this song often on the radio and I like it, so I love this cover. 1
That Dude
Okay guys, don't fear! That Dude has finally watched the new No Fun Mondays video and guess what? As usual, I think an entire album should be made from this, with Billie being a Bangle (ooooh the alliteration!) and making some down and dirty rock n roll. He looks so normal and sad in this video, I freaking love it. Not a fan of that guitar, but it's cool to see him playing some 'deep' instruments that we don't usually see. For Sure! And again, I'm feeling that a Billie Joe record is coming. As a rule, I generally like a band member's solo stuff WAAAAAAAY less than their band. Solo projects are usually popier and more disposable than their band counterparts. I feel like Billie Joe could be the exception to the rule. I could also see him falling into that poppy direction and nailing it where other flounder, because either way, Billie Joe produces good songs. He just can't seem to help it. But I could see him making a ballsier, more experimental record under his own name and totally blowing himself (and the world!) away with what he can do on his own. Mike and Tre are special. I would get all up inside of a Mike Dirnt album in a second! Tre.....eeeeh. Maybe. He has the capasity for making great recordings on his own for certain. His Mermaids stuff is my least favorite Green Day related music circulating. But it's still got that special something. Anyway. Going in for a second viewing. I hope we get to see more of Billie's house as things progress. I bet he's purposing not showing off because he's so punk rawk and shit. Stay safe you guys. My favorite online community, my ONLY online community really. Love you alll. That Dude This is a lot of fun to play on guitar along with Billie and.....I admit, I don't know the other musician's name. But now youtube is blessing me with an acoustic performance of the song and it's awesome. Thank you Billie, I'm about to dive deep into the back catalog.

GD needs to try these classic sounds. He's used a lot of vocal phrasings from the 60's and he sounds great when he does it. He showed a tiny bit of this going back to Nimrod but he started to do it a lot more on Warning. The Longshot record was pretty good I still have no clue why that wasn't the follow up to Revolution Radio.

I love that he doesn’t give a shit 🏳️🌈 It’s actually kinda hot 3

Hermione
Wow I love this! Who'd think they could make such a great video just from their living rooms. Love the Lenny shot Also I'll make sure to add any new songs to the OP each week so they're easy to find.

michael1989
Loving No Fun Mondays. I was never a fan of Manic Monday or I Think We're Alone Now, but Billie's covers of them are great. I'd like to hear him cover More Than This (Roxy Music) and Learning to Fly (Tom Petty).
Q-Man
I really hope that these come to Spotify as an album or EP once this is all over and he is done with No Fun Monday's.

jengd
I see a Billboard headline that I Think We’re Alone Now has entered the adult pop song chart at no 28 but can’t access article. Would that be unusual, it must just be from Youtube views?

Yeah I just saw it: https://www.billboard.com/articles/business/chart-beat/9353042/billie-joe-armstrong-i-think-were-alone-now-cover-chart-debut I think you can read the full article via google here: https://www.google.it/amp/s/www.billboard.com/amp/articles/business/chart-beat/9353042/billie-joe-armstrong-i-think-were-alone-now-cover-chart-debut Apparently Crush is prompting the song on the radio as well: “The song by the Green Day frontman, being promoted to radio via Crush Music, is an ode to social distancing amid the global COVID-19 pandemic.“
Beerjeezus
I like You can’t wrap your arm around a memory a bit better, but ITWAN is more fitting. Either way, it’s nice that it made its way out of the GD-fan bubble and that it’s being sent to radio stations as well.
