So i just noticed that on YT some old songs are being automatically generated/reuploaded.

This is provided by IIP-DDS which is a digital distribution company, not affiliated with WB.

This is provided by Rhino which is affiliated with WB and is a company specialized in reissues both physical and digital.

We'll see what happens.

P.S. Stay safe everyone 😉

Rhino has done some great Elvis Costello (also a former WB artist) reissues in the past with tons of bonus material. I would love to see something like that done for Green Day’s back catalogue.  Billie’s already said they were independent now I guess they’re just trying to figure out how they want to release new and old stuff going forward.

@pacejunkie punk made me wonder about their contract with Reprise, I don’t think we ever heard who/if they signed with anyone yet or did I miss it?

no news on it since the howard stern interview where they said they have a lawyer handling the negotiations

As far as I know, Green Day owns the rights to their back catalog. It's certainly possible that they may be moving their catalog to a different label that will give them a better deal and more freedom. Other bands have done this (AC/DC moved their back catalog from Atlantic to Epic in 2003, for example). If Green Day is doing this, I hope this means deluxe reissues and box sets. Something I've been dreaming about for years. *wipes drool*

In the Zane Low interview he again referred to GD as free agents so I don’t think they’ve signed with anybody.

Wait so it's 100% official now? Green Day is officially not under a label and they didn't renegotiate?

They don’t seem to be. Billie keeps saying they can release music anytime they want now and in any format so unless they negotiated an unprecedented deal, sounds like they’re independent

Is that basically the whole "Green Daze" thing?

Green Daze is their publishing name which they do own their publishing of all their songs from the Lookout thru the Warner albums

they just don’t own the master recordings to the Warner albums

Edit: look likes Warner owns some of the publishing as well as I see it’s Green Daze Music Inc admin by WB Music Group ASCAP

I’m not sure he’s been specifically talking about them, he said artists do and said they might but I think it’s all been pretty vague.

You guys treat this like rocket science or something. It's not that hard to figure out what label they're on. Thank the most merciless one downstairs that none of you work in healthcare during our current situation or the world really would be fucked.

I can't even imagine what it'd look like if any of you worked in the music industry. Thinking of any of you in healthcare is just... wow... that's the apocalypse right there.

I think that's pretty uncalled for the say. =/ This is a discussion thread and that's what people are doing. Let's just enjoy talking about what we think the direction of our favorite band together and have fun. Now more than ever, we need to be kind to each other.

Not to brag but my job in music industry is going fairly well, despite the recent troubles, and I'm sure those of us working in healthcare are doing their best too

Cuz no one from here is working healthcare, clearly. Imagine if my doctor was obsessed with Green Day, goodness me, I'd probably have an ulcer on my clavicle thorax!

No surprise to me that medical jargon perplexes you. I don't expect you to understand. Now back to your trilogy and bad pill-induced 2001 garage rock with you.

The clavicle, aka collarbone, is part of the thorax, but there is no such thing as a "clavicle thorax".

And what is the deal with all of the hostility? If you don't like Green Day and don't want to have a civil conversation without insulting people, you're free to leave.
