The strategy is called “flattening the curve”

“So even if you’re young and healthy, it’s your job to follow social distancing measures to avoid spreading it to others, and keep the epidemic in slow motion. “The more young and healthy people are sick at the same time, the more old people will be sick, and the more pressure there will be on the health care system,” said Landon.”

Well I'm young, healthy and a traveller. So don't come close to me 😂

Mike’s beard is back. That’s the most ominous sign so far. These guys don’t plan on doing anything Green Day related any time soon 🥺

In the end, I might be more excited about Hella Mega than Green Day themselves. Life is full of irony.

Man. So I guess that radio thing in Jersey was a false alarm.

I guess even if it was a thing it probably can't take place any more because of the current situation?

That’s what I think. There may have been something planned right after they cancelled Asia but circumstances are changing every day now. It may have been scrapped. I can’t see them touring anywhere now

Did Billie say something about Spain and 2021? Or I'm idiot and I remember wrong thing?
If not, maybe they can reschedule the EU shows.

The fact is, we don't know when this situation will end. Also, we have to wait at least until the 3rd of April.
If the situation gets better, what will happened? Yes to normal life but no crowded situation?
Carpe diem basically

The regrettes have cancelled their European tour and they're only playing tiny clubs in the UK, if this escalates I can see Green Day cancelling

Coachella have also just announced that it's to be postponed until later in the year.

Pearl Jam cancelled their N.A tour. I'm actually surprised by this but I guess the risk is just too high.

At the beginning the problem seemed about big venues/places. We went from closing  gathering places to close even the little shop near your house.
Also, the problem now it's huge in Europe, and most of all here but we don't know what will happen in the next months and where. 😶

Well, fuck. Swedens public health authority just issued a warning yesterday that the risk of getting corona is now considerable. Our goverment has stated that they're ready to cancel events with bigger crowds as soon as our public health authority deem it necessary. I'm not scared of getting corona personally as I think my body could handle it and I don't panic when I think of this situation. However it is a serious issue and I feel for everyone it affects. For a significant number of people it's devastating! The impact this virus has already had on our society here in Europe caught me by surprise, I  was a bit naive about it at first I guess. I never thought the european tour would be cancelled but damn, it's not looking too good right now. The selfish part of me wants to cry just thinking about it but I know there's worse ways this virus could affect people so I try to put it in perspective.

The selfish part of me wants to cry too as I already had bad luck regarding Green Day concerts
3 weeks ago I was "Why this year?! It's not possibile. I want to see them"
But now, I realize this problem is huge, and not only for health but for the economy and for not being able to work and pay your stuff.
My parents don't remember a situation like this in the last years.
I was a bit naive too at the beginning and I also said "people are overacting" referring to people who went to supermarket and left empty shelves. At the time, there wasn't the restriction to go out. Wait, you are allowed to go out even now, but just for 3 reasons: food, work and medical things. The first 2 weeks, everyone was having a normal life, even with many precautions.
The Italian tourism is facing the hardest time. Many shops in my town are spontaneously closing.
Even if this virus ends in a couple of months, the "recovery" won't be easy

Chiara Ferragni, the italian fashion blogger and influecer,  and his husband started a crowfounding campaign to help the intensive unit care in Milan.
From this, others campaigns were opened for others regions or areas - because of course there isn't only the Milan hospital.

It's not THAT dangerous tho. Don't be scare guys.

This is a message from a nurse

This picture shows the end of my guard yesterday, when after 12 hours of breathing into that mask, I stripped myself of the armor of war. Yes, because it seems to be at war. I have never lived it, but I imagine it a little like this, a war against a new and unknown enemy. And so I think back to the hospitalizations that happened one after the other, without pause, to the people who do not breathe and who over-blink look at you imploring good news, patients who cannot communicate with their loved ones because in isolation. To those who die only because they are positive for the virus, to relatives at home who cannot give a final caress to their loved one. I think of the patients I visited, some of whom were not so old or fragile, yet in a bed without being able to breathe. I think back to how itchy my mask was, the blurred vision in the protective visor and the fact that protection garrisons are scarce. I also think back to my colleagues who helped me, the nurses who worked themselves to the full to try to cope with the emergency, I think back to: "I’ll help you make this shelter". I also think back to the insults received, because unfortunately there are also those. Even in an emergency situation like this.
Then, to be honest, I also think back to fear. To the fear of catching that virus and bringing it to my family. Afraid they won’t put us in a position to work protected. To the fear of screwing up, because let’s face it, deep down, an oncologist of infectious diseases knows little about it.
All this to say to those who still deny that the situation is serious, to those who, without being in the profession, say that it is only an influence, to those who do not respect the limitations on social life, to those who find themselves in a group, to stop. Hospitals are reduced to lazzaretti (where the plague infected were isolated). The sanitation risks the collapse, all the activities in election are drastically reduced or suspended. What will happen to the other patients? Do you realize how serious this is?

And then it’s not true that only the elderly and the more fragile patients get complicated. There are young people with bad clinical conditions.

First coronavirus case confirmed in my country yesterday. It's surprising how there was no issues so far since there were too many cases in all the other neighboring countries and stuff. Anyway, I don't really know about America but travelling to Europe is not a really good idea at least for now imo. A lot of musicians, bands now announced that they postponed some of their shows, even part of their tours. There is still time for Hella Mega to start but I think if it started around this time, they would probably postponed a lot of shows since some governments already cancelled public events in their cities but still it should be a kinda bummer for them since there are many people working hard for preparing these shows for a long time and it was probably all scheduled and many people looking forward since last year but now the situation looks uncertain. So, I just really hope it will get better until the summer time so there won’t be too much worries cause people probably would want to be sure about their safety like everyone now

You should be scared of losing access to your healthcare system, for yourself, your family and your friends at least.

What are you talking about? In northern Italy they already started to chose which patients to save because there’s not enough spots and doctors for everyone, the same will happen elsewhere if this is not contained. This is not stupid ffs.

PS: those regions in Northern Italy that are now risking to collapse have one of the best healthcare systems in the world, with some the highest hospital beds and acute care units per 100k people numbers, if you think this is about Italy you are sadly wrong.

I know, my stepbrother is stuck in Italy right now with his girlfriend. We Skype every day. It's not that big a deal lol. He's gonna take the next plane to Canada and we're gonna have a nice diner and everything will be fine.
