But the issue isn’t me or my friends, it’s just that I absolutely can’t afford giving my fam fucking SARS just because I absolutely had to go get drunk. So I’m conflicted

Don't stop living because of a fear. Because you're not gonna have any fun.

It's like stop travelling or going outside because there are a lot of active shooter in the world.

I will let you live in fear. During this time I will continue to live my life normally lol

Well are you and your friends are 80 years old? If not, you can see them.

What you are saying makes no sense and is very dangerous. 10% of the people getting the disease require medical attention, 5% intensive care. No country in the world has a healthcare system able to support that amount of patients, unless there is diffuse prevention, also among young people, to slow down the virus spread. Not only because you can be an indirect transmitter for older people. If you think you are immune because you are young and healthy that’s not true. The first case in Italy was a 38 years old, fit dude doing marathons, with no health issues. He had to stay 2 weeks in intensive care with artificial breathing. Now he’s getting better, but you know what would have happened with a overwhelmed health system, which is what many countries will get if we are not careful? Any person younger then him would have had medical priority, and he could have died. Let’s say you are 20, you get average symptoms, or you get sick for any other reason, a health issue that in a normal situation would just require a few days of hospital treatment to heal. If your national health system is overwhelmed and there’s no free hospital seats, any kid younger than you that requires hospitalization (for corona virus or any other reason) gets the priority over you: consequence, you might die.
Bottom line: everyone has the responsibility to limit the spread of the disease, regardless of whether you have close contact with young or old people. Everyone has the responsibility to not contribute to the overwhelming of national health systems. If you are sick, if you have symptoms, stay fucking home.

Sorry I'm not gonna stay home except if I'm dying. I'm not gonna stop seeing my friends, playing hockey or even work because I'm coughing lol.

I'm gonna take 2-3 Tylenol and move on.

The situation in Canada allows you to do so at the moment, luckily, and I hope Canada will not get worse. But numbers around the world are showing this will probably not be the case, and as the Italian case as shown this kind of behavior is dangerous. Coughing on its own is not a sufficient indicator, but as soon as you have 37,5 fever or higher, or know to have been in close contact with an infected person you should stay home.
If you think what’s happening in Italy is an isolated case you are unfortunately wrong.
This is how the virus has been growing in Germany compared to Italy, and it could be applied to France and any other country that is properly conducting tests. It’s an esponential growth and it’s gonna be the same for everyone, and everyone has the responsibility to contain this.

Over 460 in Italy alone. For some reason Italians seem to be dying from this more than anyone else

460/6000 cases?

What's the average of people under 40 years old who died?

That doesn’t matter, the problem are not the amount of deaths (the two countries are reporting death cases in different ways anyway) at this stage, which only involve a small demographic, the problem is the virus spread and the congestion of healthcare systems. If your health care system get conjested, 10% of the people getting the virus risk their life, cause there might not be enough spots in the hospitals to threat them.

When I have the flu I don't go to the hospital. I'm healing at home. A lot of people should do that too.

It is nothing.

Except if you're 102 years old with heart problem. But everything can kill a 102 years old with heart problem.

But its not just nothing. Yes the main people in jeopardy from it are older but it attacks the lungs which means beds are being filled with people who need respirators. This is not just the flu

And that’s what’s happening, but 10% of the people getting the virus REQUIRE hospital attention, if they don’t get it they risk their life, and is not only people above 60! Right now everyone needing so can get hospitalized, if people doesn’t start to help the containment, there will not be enough spots to cure everyone!

I think I'll just stop posting about the coronavirus because I feel like it's me against the world and that we'll never gonna be on the same page 😂

Calm down guys you'll never met me anyway so you're safe.

The media really hit you hard.

I mean thats fine but you are missing the point here. Are you really willing to expose others who are more at risk than you because hey im not gonna stop having fun. Again no the flu. This is related to SARS.

But you just said would take some medicine and head out anyway. Sorry but thats a shitty as fuck attitude to have in a public health crisis. Take that advice an if you are sick stay indoors and dont go around infecting others because hey i want to still have fun

It’s also because in Italy they are reporting every death with coronavirus, which is not what every country is doing. Which means that every old person with multiple disease that is dying for any reason while being infected with coronavirus is in those numbers. Other countries are only reporting deaths certainly caused by the covid-19 pneumonia. Last numbers I saw mortality rate in Italy was 4.5%, while the world average is about 3%.

Wine in proper amounts is actually really good. It has to do with diet as well. They portion meat in their diet properly.

I guess you could argue genetics as well. It helps when you have a history of your family members dying at 100, 102, 98, 97, 95 etc

You need a little luck though. Nobody is immortal. Except Voldemort.

Italys health system is already looking to be under pressure from this and thats the problem.

The main problem in Italy is that intensive care units are full!
There's no place for everyone who need a bed and doctors said if it keeps going this way, they will have to decide who to take care of. Which is insane!

It's not just about your or another "health" person. I can have the virus and get well easily at home but I can pass it to a person who may need intensive care. And there's no place for everyone! That's the point. The virus is spreading so fucking much.
In Italy now you have to stay home and if you need to take the car and go to work or the supermarket you have to sign a certification!
Now I'm health too and I also don't want to stop seeing my friend but if I go out I risk a fine, I risk to be denounced.
