Green Day postpone upcoming shows in Asia

They wouldn't be obliged to but why SHOULDN'T they? This is an unprecedented circumstance that is massively impacting millions of people's lives. Someone who unexpectedly can't afford to live getting a little help from a refunded ticket > a millionaire rock band filling a few less seats

But like, they are going to postpone. So they should just get on with it.

Because if its not cancelled or postponed they are provided the service as marked in the contract of sale.

If someone needs the money that bad they can actually make a profit off the tickets.

I agree with the previous posts by Hermoine and others. While there are a lot of logistical and contractual things to sort out (and these are probably underway right now), some sort of acknowledgement from the tour about cancellation and refunds is warranted. The tour is not happening, and to pretend otherwise seems a bit tone deaf. There are bigger problems right now and I’m fine with a delay regarding refunds, but at sone point soon the tour should announce the obvious and let ticket holders know they’re thinking about this and need time to work through refund logistics.

What a shame overall in every way- things won’t be back to normal for a long time. I can’t stress this enough, do whatever you can to be healthy and keep those around you healthy as well. It’s going to be a rough period and we need to just make it through these next few days, weeks, and months together. I know that sounds dramatic, but it’s what we’re going to experience.

It's a long way to the top if you wanna rock n roll basically. It sounds drastic but it's the reality, sadly.
I hope for refunds instead of "hold your tickets, we're announcing dates soon" because the main question would be "when?"
Only if  they announce a tour idk in January 2021 it would be logic holding the tickets.

As long as Rock Am Ring and Rock Im Park are not cancelled, I still have my little grain of hope :ninja:

Idk, I'm still thinking the US tour has a chance of happening.

I do think if they cancel, it would be cool to give us a discount on tickets for the next tour

The first show will be July 17th, and that's far enough away that there is a tiny shred of a chance that the US tour could still happen. I doubt it, though.

i live in germany, close to where Rock am Ring takes place, and i am going to Rock am Ring festival every year since 2012 ... its not officialy cancelled but with the new rules we have in germany to win the fight against the virus i can tell you, there is a 1% chance that Rock am Ring and Rock im Park will take place as planned in June .. be prepared for a cancellation this year :(

As it stands, the Australia & New Zealand tour in November looks the most likeliest tour leg to actually happen this year, so pushing back the European & US dates to the same times next year is still my preferred option rather than cancelling. Maybe they may turn the Asian tour into HM?

Great post. Unfortunately, I think it’ll take a vaccine before any large shows take place- so likely 2021. I don’t know for sure, I’d love a miracle like anyone else, but I’m not planning on any live events before then. What a bitch this virus is.

I hope I’m wrong because I’ve been pessimistic about this for a while so maybe it’s my nature to be really cautious about this pandemic. But I honestly don’t know how schools open again in the fall, never mind a tour like this. Ugh.

Eric Clapton postponed the italian shows to next year
He was supposed to play in Milan on the 6th of June. Green Day's gig here is on the 10th/11th  😴

I think we're looking at postponement. Which means your current tickets at their price paid will be honored. This is a discount when factoring in inflation.

What they can do is make a better setlist to make it memorable vs standard GD show they put on for newcomers.

I didn't know this. I googled and I read he's okay now and the worst is over.

Guys, I've been trying to be positive but looking at New York this is just beginning :( we probably won't have Hella Mega this year.

I bought presale seated tickets for Huddersfield through Ticketmaster, but they were right at the back of the stadium. I got better seats on general sale and put the originals up for resale through Ticketmaster’s ticket exchange. I didn’t realise that they don’t release the funds until 10 days after the show, which was a huge disappointment at the time. I had an email today to say that the funds were being released, I’m not taking this as a good sign, but yay for getting money in the bank!

So a show for another band I was seeing in May just got postponed. They moved the date to a year from the original date and said to keep your tickets or they’ll refund you if you can’t go. I actually like that plan. It gives me something to look forward to and I don’t have to go through the hassle of buying tickets again but anyone who needs their money back can get it. I hope Green Day do this for Hella Mega dates that are postponed.

Yup, definitely no Hella Mega.

With that data you have to remember how many positive cases aren’t confirmed with tests in other countries.

... and in ours, though, tbh. All the numbers are fucked and meaningless.

Glasto's been cancelled, Hella Mega will not be happening in Europe for certain. Can only assume they're delaying the cancellation just in case there's some miracle cure as the amount of sponsorship etc must mean the promoters are in line for a huge loss?

Theres not a market for resold tickets. I've been trying to get rid of mine, there's more sellers than buyers so a loss is likely.

Although refunds will be coming soon.

Also Firefly festival (Blink 182 have made a ig story about it) and it was from the 18th to the 21st June
Say goodbye to Hella Mega

I'm just looking forward to that cash going back into my bank account now. There'll be another chance to see Green Day (and if they're alone it'll be a true silver lining :P).

I was seriously looking forward to seeing all three bands so I certainly hope they don't scrap the tour entirely in favor of a solo show. :(
