I don't think a Hella Mega show with 4 bands will be smaller than a festival. They're playing stadiums. It's a huge thing. ☹️
If you go on hellamegatour.com, the Hella thing starts in Paris, excluding Russia, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Germany and Italy. Btw, all these venues are still huge.
I'm not positive this time

I am definitely not aware of the venues' size but this weekend one of the biggest festivals in Mexico happened in times where the cases were still few, hopefully closer by then everything will be more stabilized.

Maybe it depends on the continent's state as the european situation could be a lot different than America, for example. Who knows :(

The problem is: isn't just Europe. The situation here can improve but what if (I hope not) get worse in America with a lockdown there? Isn't just about sizes but also movements and borders ☹️

One of the issues with the UK dates is that the shows are taking place in football stadiums and the season has been put on hold. There's a high chance that come June 27th (the Huddersfield show I'm going to) there will still be matches being played in that stadium by the Huddersfield football team. I read last week that the London Stadium takes two weeks to be prepared for a non-football event, so going by those facts the teams that play in those stadiums will have to go for at least two weeks without playing a home game, in the middle of a period when the season will have already been delayed for at least a month and they need to get it finished.

The UK government have always said that mass live gatherings are "low risk" regarding transmission of the virus, but they've still advised against them. In three months from now I would hope that we're in a place where events like the Hella Mega shows should be able to take place, for me the issue is if the show can happen while the football season is finishing up the delayed games.

Oh its starting in Paris? Ok ya France is currently like the 3rd worst hit country in europe so I really wouldnt hold my breath at this stage. Everything is being cancelled. Eurovison, Euro 2020 and as someone already so Glasto is as well.

Hella Mega starts in Paris but before Paris there are the "Only Green Day" shows in Russia, Finland, Norway and Sweden + Weezer & Green Day shows in Berlin and Italy.
But even if the first show was in Paris it wouldn't change anything  😫

Gotta think the plug gets pulled on Hella Mega here shortly. Even the US dates. I think it's supposed to start in Seattle in July and I don't see that happening.

I've pretty much given up hope entirely for the two shows I have tickets for in late May. Just waiting for them to announce it's cancelled. There's still a slight, tiny, microscopic, teensy-weensy, itty bitty chance of it happening but I just don't see it. It sucks for sure but peoples safety and health has to come first, obviously. With that said I'm pretty heartbroken over this. I was so damn lucky to have both Green Day shows and Punk In Drublic festival to look forward to this year but it's not looking too good. At least I got to see Dropkick Murphys and Frank Turner last month before this god damn virus started spreading across the world. I already talked about it in another thread, but Dropkicks live streamed show last night was something I really needed. Everyone is so depressed and worried right now, and rightfully so. It was such a relief to just not think about it for a couple of hours and enjoy a damn good show. We can only hope more bands follow suit!

Even if Europe is better by late May, the US likely won’t be and I doubt it would be safe to have all those US travelers band and crew flying to Europe where they could potentially spread it again.

Europe wont be anywhere near better in two weeks sadly, most countries are giving peaks for the virus between mid april and even into june. This is gonna go on for awhile and even if it did begin to clear up quicker the recovery in regards to economy and infrastructure will take a long time

It almost is past mattering now how things are in June, they can’t wait until then to make the decision to cancel which will be affected by many different things.  It will be really annoying if it’s all cancelled and then, by June we know it could all have gone ahead but if course that’s will be with hindsight. I think it will all be cancelled shortly.  Waiting for some asshole politician to start screaming “we’re all going to die”.

Cancelled hotels and flights tonight. Literally praying for them to cancel too so I can get the ticket money.

Thanks for the hysteria, Europe. Now we are out of Jobs, potentially homeless and 100% fucked. Kind of wish it was due to the actual virus.

Well, the hysteria didn't kill almost 8000 people around the world, it was, as you said, the actual virus. It's an immense problem.

At least you are alive - I have an elderly sick mother - I hope the slowing down of the situation means there will not be the need for a choice of whether she can be put on a respirator or not.

Have a look at the stats if they just let this virus run through the countries.  A lot more deaths than the annual flu.  All the best to everyone.
