Hopefully it works out, as even though we all are America, I doubt any contagious rate could be as fast as Europe. For once borders and long distances are for something.

I agree. If you look at my comments from sometime last week all the Europeans on here jumped me for that. I guess they think a regular border is the iron curtain?

Our population densities are much lower and that helps with covid as social distancing is much more effective in a lower population density situation.

We do still have large cities though, Mexico has the largest city in North America however, our cities have much more land mass so once again population density isn't the same as what it would be in Europe or Asia.

The thing is, with little coordinated action, I can’t really see this going away anytime soon. Obviously I’m no expert and if someone is, I’d be very interested in your take, but my common sense view is that as long as some countries will be doing the herd immunity approach, people will keep transmitting the virus back and forth as soon as the travel bans are lifted.

Its amazing you still dont quiet get it though the fact you are distancing from your parents shows a little bit of self awareness. Congrats

I still don't get it? I'm doing everything the government tell me to do.

I'm even staying at home for 14 days lol

You want me to find a cure or what

Yeah, but that means we might get small shows (great time to be starting a band haha) but I can’t really see big events and lots of international travel happening in the coming months, not only but at least partly because of the fact that some countries strategy to deal with this is having people cough on each other until everybody gets immunity or dies and that’s going to cause new outbreaks.

Dropkick Murphys just announced that they'll be doing a show and stream it for everyone since they too had to cancel. Honestly it's starting to piss me off that GD can't do the same. They were supposed to be on tour right now, why won't they give us something? I just don't get what their problem is lol.

I really agree- it would be great if they could! But they’re smart and know this- there may be reasons why this hasn’t happened yet. The Bay Area is now in a lockdown so maybe it’s not even possible. And even before the lockdown perhaps they wanted to self quarantine for a couple weeks to make sure they were safe to do so. When I mentioned the idea I hadn’t even considered these things yet- this is all happening so fast. Crazy to think that even a streaming show might take some time to put together at this point, but that’s where we are.

Stay safe everyone, I really enjoy this forum and now more than ever I’m thankful for it.

Yes, in my opinion, they should go on tour next year. Things right now seem pretty bad and the situation isn't gonna end in a month or two

Just played a small show last night, had 40 people down as going on Facebook, maybe 10 turned up. Most people are only going out when necessary now

:( Yeah, it was that way last week too - since the show got cancelled due to venue closing it ended up with 8 people turning up in the replacement venue. I’m hoping things will quickly bounce back when the ban on pubs and live music ends though.

It's weird because I literally caught swine flu and was the most ill I've ever been in my life by going to see GD during their world tour in 2009 (from Americans who had travelled over here no less). Seemed like nothing was done to combat that at all, nothing closed or cancelled or anything. I'm glad lots is being done to try and prevent the spread of coronavirus and I know swine flu wasn't the same thing, but the contrast is interesting.

If the European tour gets cancelled I won't be too bothered for myself especially if it's rescheduled....of every GD show I've had tickets to a stadium one with two other bands I don't care about is the one I'd care the least about missing :P. Still would be sad though, I hope that whatever happens everyone planning to see them on this tour will get to eventually.

Do you guys think they will be able to start the tour on May 24th in Russia?

I'd hope so but not probably.

Yeah :( I don’t want to shoot myself in the leg by making bullshit predictions, but I don’t really count with seeing them in June. I’ll be pleasantly surprised if the tour happens.

I just don't want a refund. I don't care if the tour is in a year. I just want to keep my ticket and see this tour one day.

I just hope Weezer and FOB will be very busy next year and therefore unable to take part in Hella Mega so The Interrupters and Green Day get more time :ninja:

(I may or may not have been thinking about this since September)

For me it's a no (I feel like I'm in X-Factor) at the moment. I tried to be optimistic weeks ago.

God, I also want and hope Green Day + The Interrupters.
I would be sad to not seeing the guys this year but I would be way more excited to have an arena Green Day tour in 2021

Me too. Getting field and pit tickets was a stressful pain in the ass I don’t want to have to buy tickets all over again. If I do I will definitely only do one show or I won’t bother at all.

If Weezer and FOB aren’t in this then my kids won’t want to go with me so I’m torn. I like seeing concerts with my family there are hardly any bands we agree on enough to do that.  HM is a something for everyone tour.

I keep waiting for an update from Billie/Green Day like this. Alas, I keep waiting.

The Rolling Stones just postponed their North American tour which was due to start in May and end in late July. Hella Mega is dead guys, we have to face the truth.

Well they are all in high risk categories because of their age but yeah I agree I think it’s very unlikely we’ll be up and running with 30-50,000 seat events by July and August. At this rate I’m just hoping to be able to see my kids by then who are sheltering in other cities.

At this rate, I think I'll have experienced more Green Day shows being canceled/postponed than ones that have just happened normally.
