A player for Utah testes positive For it right before their game was to tip off. The NHL is supposed to make an announcement tonight regarding their remaining games.

I think NHL will do games without a crowd

I’m so sure.

I didn’t think my place of work would be going into a “quarantine,” but it’s just a matter of days before I’m notified that I’m working from my dinning room and attending video conference meetings for 2 weeks.

edit: no decision for the NHL until tomorrow. They just released that statement - read on Wednesday Night Hockey.

And the NBA player who have caught the virus was laughing about the Covid-19 during his last press conference by touching every media/tv station microphones

I mean there's a chance they shorten or delay the season but I honestly think they'll try what I mentioned first.

A lot more cases came out today though it's not looking good worldwide.

2 teams are already planning the next home games in empty arena due to city/county ordinance - San Jose & Columbus.

Many of these teams share facilities with NBA teams. Not locker rooms, but training rooms, press rooms and obviously the playing area.

Eventually if the season isn't delayed they'll all be playing to empty arenas.

and yeah I know about the sharing of facilities I've actually done business with MLSE which is pretty much the wealthiest organization in the NHL and also owners of the Toronto Raptors.

I was listening to the jazz game when the whole thing went down. This is some crazy shit. I turned it on about 15 minutes before tip off and everything was normal. Once the refs were huddling at center court and then Quinn and Billy went out to them I knew something was up. Then the whole thing blew up.

Healthy people won't be affected by symptoms, but healthy people should take precautions to not spread the disease to others.

And let's be real, people aren't panicking because they want to be altruistic — they're worried they're going to die or worse... not be able to wipe their ass, I guess.

The problem isn't related only to everyone positive to Corona.
Okay, you have to take precautions to not spread the disease to others who may have low immune defenses.
But what happen if someone have an car accident or as a oncology patients need a bed in intensive unit care? Which are already full because of this virus.

The media is definitely making things worse, but people need to realize just because they are overreacting doesn't mean this isn't very serious.  Yes if you are younger and healthy you are not at much risk of death , but if you contract it you will spread it to others and that's the problem.  Thinking "I'm not at risk so who cares" is a very selfish mindset and will only contribute to the problem.  It will continue to spread and more at risk people will be killed if actions aren't taken to contain it.  Now the last thing I want is for this tour to get cancelled, but I understand the urgency for the problem to be solved as quick as possible. And that's all I gotta to say about that (Get better Mr. Hanks)

At the beginning I also said "media are overacting". At the beginning, like 20 days ago, when the situation here was still "under control"
Now I'm feeling stupid to have wrote that but I guess but most of us didn't realize what was going to happen.
I'm afraid that the general idea is "I know there's this problem now but as far it's far from me here everything it's fine" Sadly.

but also giving more bodies to host the virus is an issue as well because of how it will be able to mutate.

It needs to die. I hope the rest of the world wakes up now and starts imposing sanctions on China.

All it took was one country with no standards to fuck the world economy.

Finland just banned all the events above 500 people till end of May (GD concert was 27th of May) so safe to say Finland concert is either postponed or canceled.

Now the question is, who's next?

Ireland has said events with between 100-500 people should be called off and have closed all schools and universities until at least march 29th. And people are now panic buying. Queues at shops all over the country apparently. Just been out myself and people were queuing at a local supermarket and filling trollies. Insane

Stores here are basically empty of toilet paper. People are buying 5 bulk cases at a time. I don't get why toilet paper. How much TP do you use per restroom break to need 150+ rolls?

Reminder — there is a coronavirus thread for the disease itself, so if we're not talking specifically about the effects on Green Day's tour, we may want to migrate the conversation here:

I've already been thinking about this, too. I have so many concerts lined up this summer and honestly I've been really looking forward to them. Last year sucked for me.

Disclaimer: I know this isn't as big of a deal as people dying, so I don't need a lecture on it.

Maybe they will cancel, refund the obscene amount I spent on tickets, and I can just catch them on their next tour for normal prices.
