Fan Made

The fans are literally making more effort to promote FOAM than Green Day lol

ย

Itโ€™s actually cool that itโ€™s more like a partnership of the band and fan community working together ๐Ÿ˜ Great video ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

That song is such a vibe right now. ngl, I get up, I work from my dining room, I watch the news, I try to find something on netflix, flip through social media, watch the news again, try to settle my anxiety down, go to sleep, and then wake up again..each day is like wash, rinse, repeat.ย ย

Watch less news. Go outside for fresh air more.ย

Is it possible there will be more promotion once the tour gets going again, or is this era done?ย  ย

no one knows because no one knows what the hell is gonna happen this week, let alone the next 3 months.

It'd be cool if they started promoting the album again during Hella Mega, but starting from the end of the album.ย ย

"Graffitia" could be promoted as the lead single as if the album isn't already out.ย

Then, during the tour "Take the Money and Crawl" and "Junkies on a High" are released as singles.ย  ย Hella Mega promotion!ย

Wait a month and "Sugar Youth", the single everybody has been waiting for!ย ย

"Teenager Teenager" is remixed with rap feature of Kendrick Lamar and Jim Root of Slipknot.ย  While we're confused by the features, it actually turns out being a better song.ย ย

"Stab You in the Heart" is revamped with a Billie Eilish feature and completely different sound.ย  ย Nearly unrecognizable from the album cut.ย ย

and then we get a ALBUM 14 anticipation thread and all is well with the world.ย ย

Not my favorite album of theirs. Want to love it, but can't, no matter how many times I listen to it. I usually love all their albums, ย but just not a fan of this one. ๐Ÿ˜•

I think it's safe to say this era is done. I think it's the perfect way to end the weirdest album cycleย in Green Day history. I wouldn't be surprised if the tourย is postponed to next year and we get new music (potentially a whole album) before then.

Maybe it will work out for the best.ย  ย  Green Day could be making songs custom made for the the live setting in anticipation, Fall Out Boy could start work on a new record and Weezer can find the perfect time to release Van Weezer.ย

And FOAM really did get a decent amount of promotion.ย  ย  With the Trilogy a lot of things went wrong.ย  ย With Rev Rad, the "Forever Now" or "Somewhere Now" single and video would have been enough for me.ย ย

3 singles just piss me off.ย  ย  4 is alright, 5 is ideal for Green Day.ย  ย

Hard to believe its only been 100 days since FOAM came out, and yet that era (and 2020) are cancelled. I would've loved to hear live versions of TTMAC and Graffitia, even if only once each during the entire tour.ย

Don't worry, they wouldn't have played those songs anyway.

Ah man, it's possible FOAM get's the least coverage when it comes to live performances.ย  :(ย

With the Trilogy, most of the songs got one or two performances before being thrown in the scrap heap.ย  The only ones that got completely ignored onstage were See You Tonight, Baby Eyes, Nightlife and The Forgotten.ย  ย Those kind of make sense, with so many popular songs being ballads.ย  Wouldn't want to bore the 'average' rock fan with too many slow burners.ย  ย  Baby Eyes would be a blast though, maybe it could still get a life debut one day.ย ย

And that brings me back to FOAM.ย  ย The whole thing could be played in less time than Minority takes, and it'd be so much fun!ย  Seriously though, they could take out two songs and make room for the whole album.ย  That's funny to think about.ย  ย "Minority" and "King for a Day" gone with a whole era taking their place.ย ย

I know the entire album probably won't get played anywhere, but hopefully the album will get more representation in the future.ย  ย These are unprecedented times, so things need to be done differently.ย  ย ย

Let's say that by the time Green Day can rock out on stage again, they have a 14th and possibly 15th album out.ย  ย  ย The title track "Father of All" seems like it's already a staple, but they should throw in some other ones as a treat now and then.ย  ย

Green Day used to be pretty good about doing most songs live at least once.ย  ย It gets tougher as the decades go by, I get it.ย

Still waiting on "No One Knows" as it is the oldest song they have never done in concert.ย ย

But....but....but.....

You have me scanning through their setlists seeing if there's any chance in heck of this ever happening.ย ย

The only place it could fit would be right before Good Riddance.ย  ย Every now and then he'd do an acoustic "Wake me Up When September Ends", "Drama Queen" or something.ย ย ย  ย

ย I'm going to hold my breath for this one.ย ย

Do you think we'll get ANY live debuts from the older albums again or no?ย  ย There's a couple fromย Insomniac that are BEGGING FOR IT.

ย

I'm going to give Billie a call and see if he'll at least do some Father of All deep cuts live on youtube or something.ย  ย I'll have to be specific, before he goes ripping into "Father of All" for the 20th time.ย  ย  Deeper than that, Billie.ย  Deeper.ย  ย No, not those others singles either.ย  DEEEP.ย  ย  DEEEEEP.ย  ย

Graffitia really could be the ending of a 21CB pt. 2 album. It has the same epic feel. It could use to be a bit longer,ย maybe a minute more, and I think some of the emotional impact is lost with it closing out a record like FOAM. Doesn't really fit the carefree party vibe of the rest of the record.

Whatโ€™s ironic is that he often likes to end his albums on a more hopeful note but this one seems to do the opposite.ย

It feels like an Adam Sandler fake sappy ending. A good ending, but just in total contrast to the album.

Graffitia cares!ย  ย  I'm up for a 21st Century Sequel.ย  ย Throw inย some Warning-esque vibes and that would be one caring, yet fun album!ย ย

We need a super deluxe version of this album with a ton of cover songs added.ย  ย

and maybe 3-4 of those additional songs they recorded for it.ย ย

Father of the Father of All.ย ย

As days pass by, I care about this album even less lol.

Some of the songs are still good but overall, I'm just not into it and there are certain songs that I just don't like at all and never want to listen to again like Teenage Teenager, Oh Yeah and FOA

Thisย feels similar to what happened with the trilogy era after the promo for Uno was cancelled and the tour was postponed.ย By the time the 99 Revs Tourย started the trilogyย era was pretty much dead and it was more of a celebration of the bandโ€™s comebackย (which is why I gave them a free pass for not playing Dirty Rotten Bastards liveย :P).ย

The Hella Mega Tour will be a celebration of everyone being able to come together again.ย

As days, weeks, and months pass by my love for this album grows stronger and stronger. It fits right into the discography and I'll be listening to it for years to come.
