The album is just getting boring for me. Maybe too short? Not good enough songs? Style? I don't know, perhaps a little bit of all of that.

Same here! This is something that GD does very well. Not just GD but BJA's songwriting in general. It's layered and complex but also vague, fun, and open to interpretation most of the time. There's always stuff beneath the surface and it's great.

Besides...None of their records sound anything like each other, tbh, like Dookie sounds completely different from Insomniac which sounds very different from 21CB, etc, etc... so I find it very funny that people put such emphasis on what "sounds like Green Day" versus what "doesn't sound like Green Day." If the new stuff was Nightlife 2.0 with trap beats and Swedish songwriters lmao I could totally understand.

To make sure it got the love it deserved from the masses, seeing as a BJA side project musical, it would not get attention beyond the hardcore fanbase. Most normies would not know what These Paper Bullets even was, and I'm sure BJA wanted to see the tune get more attention.

I'm going in phases of really into it and kinda bored and I'm blaming the shortness too. If I get distracted it feels like the record starts over every 10 minutes and once I get into a song it's already on to the next one. It's like they're really good but I need just a little bit more on some of the songs, maybe another verse, to fully absorb it.

For me albums like 21CB, AI, Warning etc are like comfy jeans I just don't get the feeling with this album.😂

God, this is one of the better songs on the album and it's literally a copy and paste of other songs they have done in the past. If anyone wants proof that they really weren't even trying with this record, look no further.

Yep, you are right on the money with everything you said here, something was suuuuper off the moment they talked about new music coming and the album was only just announced (Like seriously, who talks about their next album when the just announced one wasn't even out yet). There are countless amounts of reasons why this is a massive troll, but still that doesn't mean it cant have some solid tunes on it.

Nothing on the album really flows, Graffitia sounds like it should be on a completely different record, Stab You is You Broke My Heart (literally the exact same song, even more so than Fuck Time). I could go on but you guys all know the story by now.

Anyone who still thinks that this is a serious, proper next album from Green Day should probably not get their hopes up about it too much

That’s actually an interesting point because while you would think shorter songs would be easier to digest, sometimes the opposite is true because they can feel incomplete and ultimately unsatisfying. I listen to Tony Molina and have a similar issue because nearly all of his songs are anywhere from thirty seconds to a minute long and he has albums of 10-15 minutes total. The songs are great and full of potential but at the same time so frustrating I actually find his short albums harder to listen to because everything feels incomplete. It’s like leaving off that final note every time after a while I can’t take it anymore.

I wonder if FOAM is having a similar effect, like if some of these songs were just thirty seconds longer or the album five or ten minutes longer at most it would be a more satisfying listen.  Like shorter isn’t always better there’s a limit.

Honestly, it makes the trilogy look like Mozart. It’s their St Anger for sure. Really abysmal stuff. And I still think Billie’s relapsed, sadly. Now he’s even retconning his 2013 Rolling Stone interview where he stated how ashamed he was about IHeart and now saying it was a proud moment. And stating shit like “what’s really sobriety anyways?” That and the erratic behavior he’s been demonstrating since the album was announced. Not good. When you can’t even beat the numbers of a mediocre Tom DeLonge-less Blink-182 with the likes of “Blame It On My Youth”, you’re in the shitter. It’s a shame man.

Tbh actually this is the one statement that actually holds a lot of truth in the sense that it's extremely hard for anyone with a dependence to fully eradicate it. Like it's fleeting and too good to be true because relapses are always imminent, and soon it becomes easy to think that the past accomplishment was not that big of a moment because in that kind of retrospect, it doesn't seem that important. Obviously not trying to "justify" or "attack" anything that BJA has said about his personal struggle with this stuff but at the same time I think that this was kind of important to point out. Idk how to best articulate these thoughts but hey, I gave it a shot lol

I'm listening to RevRad for the first time since FOAM came out. I'm on the 2nd song and I already feel like crying like I did when I first heard it.

I spun Mike Shinoda's album, the new Eminem and some Foo Fighters.   

But I got the Green Day shakes and needed a fix.
