Meet Me On The Roof and Stab You In The Heart are both from These Paper Bullets, right? So now we have 5 tracks from the show turned into songs for other projects.

The Last Time

Give It All To You

Keep Me Satisfied

Meet Me On The Roof

Stab You In The Heart

Make for a pretty good mock-Beatles EP I think!

Is Meet Me on the Roof confirmed from that? I don't think he said that.

I would love if they'd use Kerplunk font/logo in future releases again. It's such an iconic font. If I remember correctly, the last time they used it was on Vinyl box set thing, back in 2009.

I actually like I Was a Teenage Teenager, but I agree that it's way too long. I wonder what the intention was.

So apparently, my FOAM vinyl is still in California😂 But at least I got a status update this time. It was my mistake that I accidentally ordered it on the US and not the EU store, but why the hell is it still in California after one week? It will probably never get here because I'm sure it will get stuck at customs🤣😭

I like that actually, because it allows the song to smoothly progress in its instrumental component :) It starts as a soft no drums song, and it ends in a completely different and anthem-ish state. It works pretty well IMHO, especially if compared to “similar” tracks from the band such as Outlaws.

I think Outlaws is much better, just unbalanced in the mix.

I really don’t agree, can’t stand that song anymore. I like the idea behind it, but it gets too boring after the first 40 seconds. Just my opinion of course, but despite the interesting lyrics it just never kicks in as it should be. IMHO this is one of those cases where having a producer pushing the band really makes the difference.

Love it front to back, but if I skip something it's "Teenager" and "Stab".

Sometimes I skip the first 2 songs just because I heard them so much already.  Every now and then I skip 'Oh Yeah" but rarely.

I agree that it is too long and the production takes away some of the punch. Otherwise, it's well constructed. But yeah...it doesn't need to be 5 minutes lol

SAME. I've already listened to much the first two and I can't stand teenager 🙄 Stab you in the heart is just fuck time 2 for me so I skip it. I enjoy a lot the Last four😃

On different listens, yeah.

Mostly I listen to "Oh Yeah" through "Graffitia" and then if I am still driving I will listen to the beginning of the album.

Your comment got me thinking. He once said that Lazy Bones was a song that was hard for him to perform because it was so true it made him emotional. I wonder if the same holds true for some of these darker songs and why he’s reluctant to play them live?

Bit strange* to make a "party record" then not want to play the songs because they're too depressing.

*that's our Billie of course

God damn, this album always ends when I start enjoying the sound.

Mine finished yesterday & then Love is for Losers started & I remembered what a treat that was when it was released😊

This album has me building a playlist of it's influences!

While I have taken notes of musicians Billie has name dropped, I'm sure I've missed some - any you've heard??

I am not exactly how I am organizing it yet.  One with only FOAM influence, or with other Billie favorites.  Or a seperate list for that.

In any case, this album had me super excited about the history of Rock N Roll!

I kinda did the same thing, when Billie mentioned motown and soul music i started to listen some of that from the 60'. Honestly i didn't find that many similarities but i discover some amazing songs.

I'm stunned by Aretha Franklin singing. I'm out of breath just thinking singing like her.

Spoiler

The reasoning as to why BJ writes depressing songs even when intending to make a "party record" is because... he doesn't wanna freak you out, but he cannot li-i-i-ie
