I’ve listened to it 6 times front to back since 7 am in this morning. It could be one of the easiest albums to listen and really makes you want to listen to more. SYITH is stuck in my head so much. I still really love FOA but whole album doesn’t sound like that, it starts and turning into something different. It’s really like a trip.

Came out from a two hours work meeting, for two hours I just wanted to scream I wanna stab you in the heart, right in the bloody bloody heart. This song is very versatile 39.gif

I think I'll listen to Nimrod instead of FOAM today, which is weird. I usually have a new Green Day record on repeat for months after it's release. Not sure what that says about the album 😅

Brilliant. Yes he borrows some old melodies in songs like graffitia (the clash bank robber) and sugar youth (she’s a rebel), but that’s the fun in it all. No strings fun rock n roll. They don’t wanna make a part 2/ copy albums from their past. Boring for them and boring for us

Billie once said, I cannot remember where and when, that nowadays you just simply cannot avoid making melodies, esoecially with his writing, that do not resemble The Clash, etc.

And that is understandable, you cannot make another Boulevard Of Broken Dreams, but I am looking at this album like its the classic melodies through the Green Day lense. And still, there are some unique melodies, and in the year 2020, where it may seem that everything has already been written, is actually quite great :D

Don't worry FRA is one of my personal top songs on the album, not sure why a lot of people seem to not like it very much to be honest.

Me too! I didn't like it very much when the NHL released the song. But since the album is out I'm digging it a lot!!

I was lukewarm with the three singles when they came out but with the album I actually love em I love most of the songs other than Teenage Teenager which would be bottom of the list but still decent I’ve listened to this album non stop this week I haven’t even listened to the other album I bought that came out last week

Finally got around to it. First reaction: fun. Short, forgettable, fun. It feels more like an EP overloaded with tracks than it does a true, full album, but after 15 years of writing epic rock operas and...whatever the trilogy was, the band has earned a short, forgettable, fun, glorified EP.

Don’t agree with @Gonzalo17 it’s like a burst of adrenaline, the more I listen, the more I think it’s like all the main classic rock updated and perfectly suited to this period where everyone’s attention span is about 3 minutes.  While I would like more music, it would lessen the impact of it.

Is to short... Tune in Tokyo and Foot in Mouth are longer and considered EPs

EP in America are considered 4-6 songs and/or 30 mins or shorter

since FOAM is 10 songs it doesn’t fit the EP standard

Tune in Tokyo 7 tracks, foot in mouth 11, so the only Green Day EPs on their discogrsphy are Live tracks, Oh Love and 21 Guns... Either last night on earth is 7 tracks... And we all consider them "EPs"

Omg yes The Clash! Knew Graffitia reminded me of someone. Awesome.

Doesn’t really matter, almost everywhere (I think everywhere) a record with 10 tracks is considered an LP, also on streaming services like Apple Music and Spotify. Kanye West published a 7 tracks 23 minutes LP, bands like Alice In Chains as many other artists did the same in the past.

Tune In Tokyo and Foot in Mouth And most of those were not released in the US

UK and other countries have different standards on EP and LP’s

I'm also one of the few that likes FRA, but it's still the weakest single. It sounds better than when I first heard it, but there are much better songs on the album. I'm just not into Billie's voice here. And speaking in terms of singles may favorite is Oh Yeah. But I will say Billie does a better job with the falsetto on MMOTF, which makes me happy because that songs is fucking awesome.

It sounds like a track on the second half of London Calling

This album has me building a playlist of it's influences!

While I have taken notes of musicians Billie has name dropped, I'm sure I've missed some - any you've heard??

I am not exactly how I am organizing it yet.  One with only FOAM influence, or with other Billie favorites.  Or a seperate list for that.

In any case, this album had me super excited about the history of Rock N Roll!
