A few, but I have many music lovers in my feed, and they periodically get excited or troubled by what he says. What they have in common is that both categories give him views, and that’s what he need to survive. That’s also why, as any YouTuber, he has to publish a video almost every day, not by choice but by need of having a constant view flow.
His video review of FOAM has 240K views in 14 hours, about 4000$ (I am pretty sure the RS reviewer got paid less for his review). How many of those come from people watching that only because they heard on Twitter he gave 0 to it, either because they are happy or mad about it? I am pretty sure a good amount, considering that a video he published a week ago has 70k views.

Who paid him 4k dollars? Not YouTube

If that was the case, how a Coldplay review from 2 months ago has less views than the GD one published 14 hours ago? You think posting that tweet about the billboard a bunch of hours before publishing the video, where apparently he reference the thing, was a coincidence or out of his heart and not a build up strategy? I mean the guy is just doing his job, but this is how his job works.
His job consists also in giving 5/10 to the Harry Styles new record and 0/10 to Green Day to maximize his views.

Would imagine its because no-one gives a shit about Coldplay

A lot of people would say the same thing about Green Day though. But they're both bands that a lot of people know and would watch a review for, whether they're big fans of them or they just want to check up on their most recent material etc. The only difference between the two reviews though is that GD got a 0/10 but the review has so much more views in so much less time

The average professional Youtuber earns 18$ every 1000 views, from advertisement of course. And of course it’s an average, but that’s it, you think he publishes a video every day out of passion? :D

I don't think that's true. Ik a lot of youtubers that get hundreds of thousands of views that definitely aren't swimming in cash. And a lot of them get more money from Patreon than YouTube because yt constantly demonetize videos

Of course you have to consider the part that YT hold, not sure what’s the percentage but probably a lot, but then there’s also sponsorships and other factors bringing up the amounts again. And of course I am talking about professional YT, people like Fantano that have hundreds of thousands of views as an average, not a once in a while success.

You are right tho, many people are switching to other platforms like Twitch that are more profitable (at the moment).

I know that’s not an exact science and there’s many factors to be included, and for sure in that amount I do not consider the part that is hold by YT. From a YT like Fantano, with that constant view flow, I think that considering 15-20$ gross revenue per 1000 views is not that out of the world.

It’s anywhere from 1-25 depending on the type of ad and how much of the ad is watched

The Forever 21 comment hits me hard because I shit you not the first time I heard The Vaccines was in some similar store and the style of music definitely fits.

But the real question for me is what if it wasn’t Green Day would I still be obsessed? Would you?

"People ask me what would I do if I didn't have Green Day, and I say well, I'd be in Green Day, I don't really know anything else, or where people say y'know what do you think of people that only talk to you or like you because you're in Green Day and I say well, I am Green Day, that is me, that is my life".

I think we should leave Fantano alone. The poor guy is just doing his job. But, for his own wellbeing, I hope he never gives an Ariana Grande album a 0-score.

He would cash in so much money with that, but then he would probably have to spend all of it to migrate to Mars :P
