Father of all Motherfuckers - What are your thoughts on the new album?

I don't know what it is but I think FRA sounds better on the album. Billie's vocals don't sound as buried and I can hear more elements that I didn't notice. Still it's probably the weakest song on the album. Also I think the intro on TTMAC is unnecessary. It doesn't add much to the song.

Hey I asked the store when my Oakland Coffee mug was coming and they shipped it! CD still arriving tomorrow.

Looks like I should write them again about it. I had a correspondence going but then they went oddly silent when I asked when it's expected to be shipped. 🙄

I always picture a really intense stand off between Billie, Mike and Tre in an old western, and just when you think the shits about to go down, they all simultaneously just pull out their instruments and start jamming 🤣

Clearly, this should've been the music video. Just think, they would be in cowboy boots, Spurs, and ten gallon hats. Maybe Tre would rock chaps without pants on underneath 🤣

I think the intro sounds cool. It gives the song more personality

Completely agree. I love the intro.

Agree I love the intro, nice creative little touch. Reminds me of the bongo intro to Extraordinary Girl which I love for the same reason.

What does that warning label say?  Different than mine.

Is there a clean version of this album?

Explicit language.

After listening to the album repeatedly, it's definitely left me wanting more. I wish it was longer. I totally get why they did it though. It flows together well and before you know it, it's over. I hope the rest of the recording session gets released.

Without me prompting him, this is my husband's review of FOAM:

"Sugar Youth is the only good song. It's she's a Rebel 2.0. And Fire, Ready, Aim. And that one song that starts like something off 21st Century Breakdown. I'll point it out to you later."

So I guess "only" 3/10 songs isn't bad. Though I have no clue what the last one is that he's talking about. But I'm glad he also noticed the similarities with Sugar Youth.

Probably Graffitia

I would say Graffitia also, intro kinda sounds like Last of the American Girls.  Best track on the album, hope they release that one as a single, or at least play it on tour (a lot, not just once or twice). 😍

Okay the album is growing on me a bit. Graffitia is the best song.

Same here, even Graffitia has grown a lot for me too.

What if: every song on this album was released as a single?

I could almost see this happening for this one to be honest.

If would fit with the weirdness of the whole era.

I want at least six singles with videos!

The last one will reveal how all of them are interconnected with each other.

Man, it breaks me heart the American Idiot movie isn't happening.   Can we push for a Father of All Mother*&(**r feature film?

Or a film based on ANY of the Green Day records, really.

Take The Money and Crawl would be a great opener for the tour with an extended version of the intro as they walk out onstage.

I actually came up with a plot for a Dookie movie that basically turns into a mission impossible :P

I know they’ll open with FOAM but I don’t think it would be their best opener by any means

I hope they'll open with Stab You in the Heart at least once. IMO it's a banger worthy of a Know Your Enemy spot in the beginning of the setlist to really get everyone hyped.

Such a fun album to play. Have learned 7/10 songs on it, very enjoyable to play. Especially TTMAC. Sugar Youth is very fun too, fun little riffs and lyrics.

Some stand outs for me:  Graffitia, Junkies on a High, and Teenager.  Each listen so far has something new I hear or notice that brings me back to listen again.  It is a fast album, man, and left me wanting more.

It plays on a loop on my iTunes when I’m out driving and every time before I know it, the album ends and starts over and over and again and again...
