Father of all Motherfuckers - What are your thoughts on the new album?

I can't stop thinking that this album has lyrics darker than Insomniac and is driving me to a mixture of sadness and happiness that hurts

Anyway, Junkies on a high has made up to my top 10 Green Day songs. It rings real deep into my soul, in absence of a better name for it. I never expected to relate to a Green Day song again in my life, so is a huge nice surprise. I'm out

I feel the same about Junkies on a High! You describe it perfectly. I love it, I feel the lyrics and the music deeply in that special way that only happens rarely. Last time that happened with a Green Day song for me was with Somewhere Now. But it's really a rare thing.

"Gonna dance/ To something wild" hits me every time for some reason. It sounds desperate, chaotic, fun, and convivial at the same time. Oxymoronic? definitely. Sugar Youth and Graffitia are locked in combat for FOAM's best track in my ranking.

I was planning on going into town to buy a copy of FOAM, but when I was quite literally blown into the house by the wind tonight I walked into my room to find a copy of FOAM that had been bought for me sitting on my bed! Obviously I'm listening to it now!

The artwork looks so much better in my hands than it does on a screen, and I couldn't have drawn it better than Billie

Without me prompting him, this is my husband's review of FOAM:

"Sugar Youth is the only good song. It's she's a Rebel 2.0. And Fire, Ready, Aim. And that one song that starts like something off 21st Century Breakdown. I'll point it out to you later."

So I guess "only" 3/10 songs isn't bad. Though I have no clue what the last one is that he's talking about. But I'm glad he also noticed the similarities with Sugar Youth.

My guess is he was talking about Take the Money and Crawl, its intro sounds so much like something straight outta 21CB

So I had the new album playing on the background while I had a conversation with a colleague at work. The album totally doesn’t work as background music, because I have no idea what my colleague was talking about. All I know was that he used words. I couldn’t keep my ears off of the new songs.

Besides that, the album is keeping me too zen because I really need to start to complain about the slow delivery of that damn package. The status hasn’t been updated for a week.

NOW I GET IT. The score for the album drops from 8.4 to 7 when you're sober. Now I understand all 7's reviews. I simply forgot all the magic. 

Naah, just kidding. I probably got one of the the best first impression of the album of all of us, AND IT'S FUCKING BANGER!

Exactly this!

That whole intro segment of the song gave me vibes that could make it easily slot into 21cb or RevRad. It's still one of my favorites off the album by the way.

Dude I literally felt the same way up until like two days ago. I randomly noticed I had it stuck in my head all day at work and had the urge to listen to it again and when I did it just clicked and I realized how fantastic it was. It's gone from being "Oh Meh" to being one of the best songs on the album in my opinion.

I know a lot of people think it’s slow, but Junkies on a High REALLY does it for me. Can’t get it out of my head. It’s very moody and atmospheric. 

Other favorites are still Sugar Youth and Graffitia. I’m really having a hard time finding much else I really really love. So many of them remind me of my skip songs on other GD albums (which is usually only one or two).
