are they playing an afterparty or something now?

I think they were playing in their hotel

It looked like a outside place. Their manager and Keving shared. Jason was singing again, going kinda crazy I think he was lying on a bar counter lol but they looked so happy

Looked again it was a small club in LA

I am looking at the old set lists on GDA and this doesn’t look like the case, but I am probably missing something

Just search whatsername on setlist.fm and you'll see just how many times they've played AI in full since it was released

Yes it looks outside...saw two small videos on twitter, one where I couldn't tell which song since it is barely audible and the other is welcome to paradise.

Someone commented saying that it is in a tiny club in Hollywood

Ok, I talked too soon, what a difference can make a quality video. It was a great performance. FOAM definitely became one of my favorite among the songs they perform live, I am so much looking forward to hear that. Oh Yeah! grew exponentially from the first performance, and it actually sounded pretty cool. I still think it would be a great touch to have choristers singing along with them on stage, but I think it’s still fun to hear and it has huge potential in an arena.
The rest of the performance was great, I really liked the KYE/Bang Bang/Minority part, so much positive energy.
And it really seems like AI could be headed to get back the opener spot, that would be freaking awesome.

Also the interview was overall interesting, nice to hear again the cover art story, and great comments about the meaning and role of this record.

After all of this I want to hear FOAM in full even more. Go for it ffs.

I hope this is the case for me as well, 'cause from what I heard Billie sounded like shit  Still annoyed over the setlist though, album release party my ass :P

Why didn’t they play more from the album? Anyway happy they see they played Scattered. That transition from “scattered” into “dancing with myself” was 🔥

Maybe it was not the perfect night for Billie’s voice, maybe he pulled out better notes during the last few months, but they rocked it, and overall he still sounded really good to me.

Apart from the vocals, Oh Yeah also sounds off because Tre is really struggling to stay in sync with the backing track.

I'm gonna keep it real, if I saw that poster and didn't knew much about Green Day, I would roll my eyes so hard I would literally see my own brain. But seeing as the guys are totally supportive of new artists and genres, this is probably on their management and it's super annoying because this is not their first PR fuck up and they have a tendency of getting into completely avoidable controversies just cause they're not able to read the room when needed.

So PR guy, if you're reading this, can you like not suck for a while? Like at least for release week, pretty please?

This is more insight on you than the band

Taking a band to task over a poster that is actually offensive even if they didn't have anything to do with it (which they obviously didn't) might be fair. Over an unoffensive poster that is simply a bit cringy though? Absolutely ridiculous.

To me it looks exactly like what Billie would say. Just read his recent posts

I have to agree. He sounded ok on Scattered, KYE, and Minority. Other than that he really struggled vocally. His live performances are so hit and miss these days. They really need to figure out what is causing some of the misses.

I think right now, based on recent interviews and now this poster, they have to be really careful to not seem like old farts saying “That rap today! It’s just a bunch of noise!” Or really in their minds I think they’re also thinking of the overproduced and insincere pop that is so prevalent these days. But they need to keep those thoughts to themselves. Not a good look and the opposite of expanding their base.

Having said those 2 negative things, I hope they’ll turn both of these around and it will be a very successful era.

How can one play a song for so many years and not get tired of it. Will there be a time when they just stop depending on other peoples opinion and play whatever they wish. Billie is definitely struggling with his voice. I hope next album will be less challenging and more personal for the band cause they seem to have lost the fire and passion

Agree. But Green Day probably wants any publicity right now to stay relevant even if it’s not positive

They dont need to keep it to themselves. Someone needs to fucking say it. All these other bands work in fear mode like theyll be blacklisted.

honestly best part of 2019 was Dave Chappelle offending everyone and then being like “i walked away from 50 million what are you gonna do?”

It seems to me that you guys are reading way too much into a couple of performances where Billie’s voice was a little underperforming. The second half of the show sounds definitely better, but I don’t see anything dramatic in the first four songs. Oh yeah! is still a little raw and was not perfectly executed, but they have time to find the right arrangement.
I hope to see the whole record live, and I think this is the music they want to record and play today. Father of all is with Bang Bang the best live song they have wrote in a really long time.
I do think they have to shake up a little the set list, and that they are probably being held too much by the audience expectations. It’s not easy to handle an audience that varies from 30 years long fans and 13 years old kids. I still hope they’ll break up something here.

Regarding the poster I am really surprised, I really don’t see anything offensive there. It’s a joke, what is the problem there? Making fun of what today occupies all the fucking charts and say “we are different”? Really, why so serious?
I am definitely not being influenced by a bunch of idiots on twitter, if you are ignorant enough to think listening to rock music equals to being a racist you are a fucking moron and have no clue of what the history of rock and punk rock looks like. Knowing or not Green Day doesn’t make a damn difference here.
If I was the GD PR I would not give a damn fuck about this kind of people, if I had to listen to this shit being wrote on the internet all the time about everything I would melt down with anxiety. Social media are pure shit, is not a Green Day or FOAM issue.

Forever now, 99 revolutions, static age, 21sr century breakdown, brutal love, stay the night, let yourself go and many more are miles better live songs than foamf. I don’t know maybe you’re a new fan, but those live songs gave me incredible emotions and were jaw dropping. Foamf is good live though

I’m a fan of this band since 2004 and I have been to GD concerts for 14 years, thanks for profiling me based on my musical taste. See ya.
