Totally bizarre to me that we’ve gone several album cycles without them significantly revamping the playlist. I feel like they have no confidence in new music they put out. An album release party should be the new album played all the way through. It would only take 26 minutes lol!

I don't think it's lack of confidence. I think they realize that their new stuff will never get a crowd going like the hits. Billie saw that on the Trilogy tour where the crowds went silent for new music.

I only caught a snippet of Oh Yeah live but so far it unfortunately doesn’t sound good live. Again, I only saw like the the end of it so hopefully I’m wrong but oooof

also, I really hope that poster was just the PR team. As pointed out, it makes little sense to be that elitist when Billie was just in a rap video and has been praising younger artists left and right. I also think the poster thing got blown out of proportion. 
 

Lastly, I’m happy I didn’t make the trip out for the release party and gave my tickets away. I love the boys but this set was underwhelming. Least they could’ve done was play Meet Me on the Roof.

I'm gonna keep it real, if I saw that poster and didn't knew much about Green Day, I would roll my eyes so hard I would literally see my own brain. But seeing as the guys are totally supportive of new artists and genres, this is probably on their management and it's super annoying because this is not their first PR fuck up and they have a tendency of getting into completely avoidable controversies just cause they're not able to read the room when needed.

So PR guy, if you're reading this, can you like not suck for a while? Like at least for release week, pretty please?

I feel like it has to be. Like you said, it doesn't fit with what Billie has said and done recently. Which really sucks because sadly the pic of the poster is what's getting shared, not the other stuff. And god forbid anyone look beyond something and go "that's weird and doesn't fit" rather than assuming the worst.

I think "boomer" basically just means old or out of touch now. I'm in my 20s and "woke" and I've gotten "ok boomer'd". Twitter is a dumpster fire. 

I find it fascinating that people are calling them racist for dissing trap music as if they haven't named multiple black artists and genres that influenced this record. Motown, Kendrick Lamar, Prince, to name a few.
