On the upside, it’s cute how Billie is so excited at the prospect of being hit by a car 😂

When I first watched the clip BJ reminded me of this little dude so the car couldn't see him anyways🤣

I thought the same thing. I wouldn’t be surprised if he saw that idea in the treatment and was immediately sold 😂. Looks like they all had a lot of fun on this shoot.

I really dislike the stray heart video yeuch but love the new behind the scenes, yep too short. How weird to be standing talking to someone while someone else brushes down your jacket!

GO BEHIND THE SCENES OF GREEN DAY’S VIDEO FOR ‘OH YEAH!’

Earlier this month, Green Day released their brand new single 'Oh Yeah!', complete with a video which operates as a social commentary on striving for fame through social media.

The song itself samples a track off Joan Jett's album 'Bad Reputation', which has inspired Green Day to donate all of their royalties from the track to charity.

Talking about the track, Green Day shared, "We’re throwing a party at the apocalypse and you and your 5 seconds of fame are invited."

They continued, "BTW we sampled a song from the great Joan Jett’s 'Bad Reputation' album. One of the writers on that song is a total asshole so we’re donating our royalties from this song to IJM and RAINN."

Today Green Day have dropped a behind the scenes video from the video shoot for 'Oh Yeah!' - giving us all an insight into what goes on on their video shoots.

Green Day's new album 'Father Of All...' is set for release February 07 through Reprise Records.

Such a short video

Maybe they will release a "Jesus of Suburbia Cut" of the video when they start liking long things again.

Another article about the making of, this time from Kerrang:

GO BEHIND THE SCENES ON GREEN DAY’S VIDEO FOR OH YEAH!

Green Day have released a behind-the-scenes look at their recent Oh Yeah! video.

There’s a week to go now until the release of Green Day’s new album Father Of All… on February 7, and in anticipation for album number 13 the punk rock titans have revealed a look into the making of the video for their latest single, Oh Yeah!.

The original clip sees frontman Billie Joe Armstrong getting hit by a car (sure), as well as drummer Tré Cool channeling his inner Ron Burgundy, and bassist Mike Dirnt being pretty much the worst security guard ever. And now fans can go inside the Malia James-directed video – not just taking a look at how it was made, but also the inspiration behind it.

In an interview with Kerrang! last year, Billie Joe explained that Oh Yeah! was “about being freaked out around the polarisation that we live in right now,” he said. “Whether it’s kids getting shot in schools, or the closest thing that America has ever seen to fascism. Light stuff…”

Similarly this ties in with the themes of Father Of All… as a whole, too, with the singer and guitarist explaining how he was inspired lyrically this time around: “It’s coming from a place of feeling like you’re out of control, and you’re not in charge of your own body anymore. It paints pictures or vignettes of what life is like for me and for other people that, I feel like, are desperate. And I mean that in an empathetic way, where people in America have become very desperate with their situations. There’s factories being shut down, gentrification…”

Heard it on the radio for the first time this afternoon.  And the dj brought up the swearing during the NHL game and was basically like, you contracted with a band whose album is titled Father of All Motherfuckers, so...

I just wanna point out that people think they were doing it with some kind of intention... anyone who's been to a GD show or a rock or punk show know this is just part of the show...

This type of thing will happen more and more often as we get older though. I mean look at who's breeding and who's choosing to not breed. We're so fucked we're heading for extinction.

I’ve seen today people are bashing a singer because she cursed on the stage but it’s because there is the word ”angel” in her sentence so religious reasons but actually she used it as a person’s name, I guess. It’s kinda complicated but I think GD’s situation is nothing like that, it’s part of the show and not directed to anybody

I just think the whole attitude towards it is bullshit. Trying to use "it's a family event". Kids are logging onto porn sites at like the age of like 8 now...

Listen, artists are gonna express themselves the way they want to. The problem is the internet has created a situation where all these idiots think their opinion is worth something and that someone will listen to them. Part of the problem is corporations who actually listen to them and perpetuate the bullshit.

Then you have white and latino rappers dropping nbombs in their music and no one questions them about it. The context it's used in is not quoting and raising awareness against the kkk and racists. It's being used to identify people in their scene.

I listen to this song countless times every day and despite my best efforts I only hear 'everybody you're a star', instead of the supposedly correct 'everybody got a scar'

Has there been any indication of when the music video was shot?

I’m gonna guess it was the same time that Tyla Yahweh was posting the first photos from his video shoot since they seemed to use the same crew and were shot the same day. He deleted those posts but you might find the date here where they first appeared.

@RisingRedWolf I have been fighting this song but I just heard it on the radio & I was bopping in my car - not sure if it was the excitement of finally hearing new GD music here or knowing the promotion is starting but it was sick😕

I get excited to hear anything GD related these days. Gone are the days when I was sick of hearing 21 Guns because "there are better songs by them"

Now I'd probably cry of happiness if I heard 21 Guns on the radio lol.

I used to be so sick of hearing Boulevard of Broken Dreams on the radio for the same reason. So many better songs.

I recently heard it on the radio for the first time in quite a while, and felt so much love for it. I will neither confirm nor deny whether I teared up or not.

Keep whitewolf. Let kool aid man take matikas slot

WhiteWolf needs his own show. Marvel screwed us over by giving us a Falcon & Winter Soldier show, when I was expecting a Bucky Barnes as WhiteWolf standalone movie with Black Panther. So I say Green Day should use this failed Marvel opportunity to give Freese's WhiteWolf a legitimate comedy talk show. I'm not even joking lmao I would fork out cash to watch that 😂

Actually, no. Not a talk show. A feature length film.
